As the saying goes a school with a strict uniform policy is a bad performing school

    Who says? What absolute rubbish!

Schools which demand a strict uniform policy are attempting to instil into their pupils a sense of self-worth and preparing them for a positive work experience.

But you obviously do not think this is essential to your children.

    OP is either:

    1. A wind up merchant
    2. Spamming for Primary and/or Shoezone
    3. A fetishist who gets their kicks out of reading others discuss their children's school uniform and/or footwear

Whichever one he or she is, it's pretty unsavoury really.

It's a bit strange how schools in rough areas demand high uniform standards though ?

Trying to raise the low standards and expectations of people who think that buying clothes and shoes in Primark which are rip-off copies of expensive brands (manufactured by people in 3rd world countries who are paid a pittance btw) are the bees-knees.

Trying to instil a sense of pride in themselves which in turn might change the rough area into a better area.

Or do you believe the "all things bright & beautiful" hymn to be the way that things should be?

"- the rich man in his castle, the poor man at the gate
    - he made them, high and lowly, each to his own estate"

I wouldn't know as I don't live in a rough area. I will have to take your word for it as you are more au fait with that milieu :)
