i dont know how it will be in a sauce but sour milk is great for scones...better than fresh...if the milk smells ok i would say it would be fineonwards and upwards0

If it smells fine I'd still use it.0

Hi Golden Anemone,
If it looks and smells ok then taste a little bit, if it tastes fine then I would go ahead and use it.
I'll add this to our main food safety thread later.

Thanks very much.
It smelled fine this morning and I had already had a cup of tea that tasted ok before I noticed the date.0 -
If it smells ok and tastes ok then it IS ok....dont waste good food just because of a date.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

I would use it, not just for a sauce! If it smells and tastes fine, then forget the 'date'. Milk is one thing which is VERY obvious when it has gone off so I never look at the date on it.Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0

as above!
Milk is a peculiar thing; can taste "off" loing before date but can also be fine afterwards!
(maybe just because I'm not very good at putting it in the fridge!)0 -
Just don't pour it into a cup of tea made with the last teabag in the house. *chunters to herself*"On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." My hero, Mr Steer.0

What do you think? I bought sausage rolls today. Two packets of 8, they were left in the car for 2 hours, I remembered about them brought them in and forgot about putting them in the fridge (honestly, I don't know where my head is at the minute - too much winter prep :rotfl:....). I've just remembered so they've been out of the car for another 5 hours.
Will they be okay to eat do you think? and thanks for your help"A strong man stands up for himself, a stronger man stands up for others" Barnyard the children's film.
