Yes... I'm off on my hols for a few weeks, so hopefully someone will guide you through. A simple matter of changing the boot order as you wrote.

Ok.amyone else to get to boot page from Acer logo going to 'no 'bootable device' within 2 seconds... rapidly pressing del, f10, f12 doesn't work.

Any other options?

F2 was the one that worked.

So i entered bios, changed to legacy, changed to order so usb was at the top of the order. Pressed f10 to save and restart, now I'm back into my laptop and everything looks normal. There was no clean installation?

Anyway, mousepad not working.

So I'll run through device manager and window updates to see if that resolves.

If not, should I then try bios and firmware update again?

try not to rush things using device manager is a good idea , and don't try the BIOS yet , stay calm and you will get there. Nifty may be going on holiday but he will keep in touch , well normally he does.... :cool:
You will learn and things will come together, you can still post on here so you are not without options, I know it is frustrating when things don't work when things are not sorted immediately but you will get there with help.
