Oh MOT, ((((HUGS)))) - so the saga continues. At least you have somewhere, but it's such a shame it was in a disgusting state. Hopefully you can start to settle in soon and the hard graft will be over.

The gesture by T & D is lovely, you certainly sound very deserving.

All the best to you and the twins.

    Hi MoT,

I know it's not the most important thing to do, but I think that when you leave that flat, you should make an official complaint not only to the HA that own the flat, but to your HLO too - and if they start making out you are being ungrateful, just ask who had actually inspected that flat as being fit to let, and suggest that that person should get their eyes tested. Oh and ask the HA to remove the filthy mattresses on a point of hygiene.

I'm glad you've managed to get moved, and :grouphug: to your neighbours for their kindness.

Right, will stop being bossy & go away to do some work!

    Love to all, Floss xx

Hi MOT. So the drama goes on eh? What a lovely thing your friends did for you. I am reading this thread at work and it brought tears to my eyes.

I agree with Floss that you ought to complain about the state that you found that flat it – I think it’s disgusting that you should have had to deal with that on top of everything else.

I'm sorry the place was so disgusting, sounds like you're all working hard to make it more homely. (The cheeky council, you've probably saved them loads of money on cleaning costs!)

I'd complain too, but it might not get MOT very far if my experience is anything to go by. My first flat had floorboards missing, large expanses of moss growing on the lounge walls because the previous people had thrown beer on the flock wallpaper (that lovely burgundy coronets & cream found in all the best pubs  ) & it had begun to grow a lawn fit for Wimbledon tennis, & human faeces in the bath in a line like this > " . . . . " When I complained to the council, they told me that the property met the Health & Safety standards, so my complaint was purely about the decorative state of the place & wasn't sufficient grounds on which to turn the place down. As I'd only be getting one offer from them, if I turned it down I'd go to the bottom of the list. The most I got from them was a decorating voucher & some nails I got from a council workman working on another flat who felt sorry for me. The place stank too. :(

As annoying as it is, the main thing is that they've got a secure roof over their heads now. I was furious about the state of my place, but once I'd convinced my mum to clean it up for me :T :D I soon forgot about it. The effect of other people's dirt is a lot easier to deal with when your mind's clear of other stressors. :)

EEEEWWWW how horrible that your new place was in such a state. That is truely gross. I hope that the previous tenants don't get their deposit back. Talking of which, will you be getting a deposit back from horrible LL?

Still really glad you have got SOMEWHERE. Doe this now mean that that is it, or does it mean that now they have to still sort out your claim for permanent rehousing?

Hi MOT, it's great news to hear of your flat.I'm sure once you've added your own touch ( after cleaning of course) it will feel a litle bit more like home.
