MOT so glad you got somewhere to live. It must be such a relief to know that you have somewhere to go. I really hope that this is only the start and that you will get a proper house in the new year.
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

I spent a good few hours reading every post of this thread yesturday and had tears in my eyes when you were offered somewhere.
Its shocking how you have been treated and that its not over yet.
I know a few people that have been in your position and have had no other choice but to borrow the money from family to rent privately as our local council wont help. Both have very young kids as well. Yet an ex friend of mine got a place very easily even though she was living with her mum happily.
Heres hoping that all goes well from now, things can only get better!!!0 -
It's great news to hear you've finally got somewhere to move to! :j Things can only get better from here on, as once you're one of the council's tenants it's much easier to get re-housed. You'll be in overcrowded accommodation, so the council will give you some level of consideration/priority. You won't be there too long, & the time will go very quickly. Congratulations again, especially given that you've had to do so much to fight the system & get what you're entitled to.BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."

Hi MOT
I'm glad you're now out of your old place and the nasty LL. Hope you left him something festering under the carpet that will not be so pleasant in a few weeks...
Hope you new place is ok - can't wait to read about it. This has been such a long journey for you and the twins so far - with just a bit more to go now hopefully.
Have you heard from the HLO - are they taking you on as homeless or is this flat a temporary stop gap whilst they make a decision?
Big ((( hugs ))) to you all and wish you all the best in your "temporary" new home

MOT HERE IN ALIAS:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:Gosh! Morning all, there are so many replies to answer which I will do later this pm as have to get twins ready for school and from I-T's its a 30min drive (traffic)
But to let you know for now that when I saw the flat on Tuesday I had DS with me as he was sent home from school (bad head) and we both sobbed as it was SO filthy, unbelieveably so, Aggy and Kim would have had a field day in there:eek: . Anyway. y'day D (my neighbour from cottage) and I scrubbed and cleaned, bleached and disinfected everything in the kitchen and bathroom to within an inch of its life! The cupboards were cleaned in and out, oven Mr Muscle'd in and scrubbed out, fridge now clean and looks like new. Oven shelves are soaking in the now very clean bath in biological washing powder. The windows were disgusting and now we can see out of them! The paintwork was that sticky you couldn't move if you put your hand the door handle or surround - now bleached, flashed and disinfected.
But the furniture - well:eek: D and her husband T are lending me a clean double mattress to put on top of the filthy one (which will be covered first to protect the new) and the same for the single bed - YES we have a single bed:T . There is a cream leather chair in the lounge which looks like several people have spilt their dinner and then puked all over it - so guess what treatment that is getting today???? Then it will have a throw over it. My armchair is there too and D & T are bringing another couple of comfy chairs.
The Dining Table - well thats a laugh it has 3 legs, the dining chairs are velour material and have the same effect as the paintwork when you touch them - you stick:eek: so they are going to be scrubbed with 1001 Upholstery cleaner.
We'll be at I-T's again tonight:D
The removal men took 12 hours to pack the containers - 12 hours??!!!! and even then they left quite a lot behind:mad: so T is bringing that for me.
The removal men also wanted to charge me an extra £352 for dropping some items off at the flat which I just didn't have as the costs of moving and storage for 4 weeks had wiped me out for the month, so T took me to one side and said that each month his business gives 1% of its profits to a needy cause, and that he and D had decided that I was that needy cause for this month - so he paid the extra to the removal men and then proceeded to give me a further £200 (to make up the 1%) to use for food - I just completely broke down as I have never known such kindness - T said it was given unconditionally and with love.0 -
Morning to you. What a lovely gesture by your friends, that must really warm you afterr all the troubles you have had recently. Restores your faith a bit eh? Sounds like you have had a LOT of work to do but once you are all in and settled I am sure you will feel a little better knowing that the worst is behind you. This flat is only temporary and is the start of your way forward. At least now when you close the door you wont be having to worry about that awful LL anymore. Great to hear from you. Best wishes to you and the twins. :wave:Boots Card - £17.53, Nectar Points - £15.06 - *Saving for Chrimbo*2015 Savings Fund - £2575.000

Thanks for updating us MOT, it sounds like you've got better things to do than keeping us in the picture, but I am grateful that you do as we all worry about you
I'm sure once all the scrubbing has been done and all your own stuff is in there it will feel a little bit like home.
That was a lovely gesture by your friends:T :T
