Just worked out cost of moving everything to containers (4 @ £46.53 per week + moving costs + ins + VAT) on Tuesday - £841:eek: wish Crisis Loan had been confirmed. God knows what we'll have to live for the rest of the month!
hi mot
The court can only give a maximum of 56 days between possession order being granted and warrant expiry date. If the court has already allowed this amount of itme then there is no point in making the application as they will not have any discretion in this matter. courts often take this into consideration when issuing the possession order in the first date.
it could also have a dramatic effect if you turn down the temporary accomodation as they could deem you intentionally homeless for givng up temporary accomodation they have arranged for you. If the decision on your homeless application is not made before the 8th and you are already in temporary acc when they make it, and it happens to be adverse to you then they are more likely to let you stay there whilst the review of the decision goes ahead. so not really worth it as you may have to pay for the hearing when you make the application on the form n244

Thanks Teeni, you echoed what I was thinking but I really wasn't sure if I was doing the right thing or not - part of me thought it would be easier to stay (less moves) but I suppose I knew that moving into was the best idea - I really needed your guidance on that - thank you.
By the way LL back from hols a day early  and he's already had my lovely neighbour in tears for just turning up and wandering around her garden peering in the windows with his wife and their dog!!Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -

What is a crisis loan and how does it work? How long do you get to pay it back and is there any interest?
For once I am glad to be ignorant of something!!!0 -
Did you contact Crisis Loan after they told you they're working 3 weeks behind? As someone else said, how do you know you'll have a crisis is 3 weeks??
And if HLO isn't answering emails, ring her and demand the answers - or tell her you'd like her address so you can turn up with the twins next Thursday! She is being even more poo than she was before (if that's possible!) by not telling you anything.
Hugs to all 3 of you

Hi Floss, have left numerous messages for HLO to call me but, like the emails, there is no response
.
Viv, This is is the definition of a Crisis Loan -
Crisis Loans
What are they?
Crisis Loans are interest-free loans you have to pay back. They may be available to anyone, whether or not they get any benefit, who need help to meet expenses in an emergency or as a consequence of a disaster.
Are they for me?
If you are aged 16 or over and cannot pay your basic living costs (or some other essential cost), and this could put the health and safety of you or your family at risk, you may be able to get a Crisis Loan.
Any savings will usually affect how much you can get.
There is also a Budgeting Loan which covers removal expenses but you have to be receiving Income Support or JSA to claim this type of loan.Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -

"Thank for your recent letter and email about my situation at *******
However, I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the Medical Form from the Council to my GP is very vague in the questions it asks. I feel that more specific questions should be asked of GP's to determine exactly how a patient is suffering as these forms are then passed onto an outside Medical Co for their assessment. Now these Drs do not know me or any other patient so the information asked of the GP should VERY specific as a persons future - in this case mine and my childrens - depends on how detailed the information from the Dr is. There is not enough room either for the GP to make a detailed account.
In my case too my GP does not really know me well enough as I have only been in ****** for a relatively short time, and although I know I have been suffering from depression and anxiety I am also aware that there is not a lot the GP can do as my depression and anxiety have been and are to do with lifestyle factors, so she can only prescribe medication (which I have been on for some years) and refer me to counselling (which was done when I first moved here) so from my point of view - what is the point of wasting NHS time by keep going to the GP weekly? Hence the fact that I think that the Council Medical Forms should be more detailed with the questions asked so that the GP can sit with their patient and be as thorough as possible in completing the information required.
I have been given a negative pre-decision from the council as they are concentrating wholly on my financial situation. I feel this is very unfair as I have had far more to deal with in the way of stress and anxiety in the last few years than many people do in a lifetime.
It is a known fact that depression and anxiety make the sufferer confused to the extent that there is no coping mechanism with finances (amongst other things) and that certainly in my case because my money comes in in 'dribs and drabs' I am not able to focus properly when it comes to paying a large bill ie: rent of £1000 pcm - my account just doesn't have that amount in it at any one time and I haven't been clear minded enough to prioritise how and when to deal with putting money aside.
Also ****** has been up for sale since I moved in although I wasn't aware when I took out the tenancy. Now the property is being sold individually (instead of part of the ***** as a whole) and is getting a lot of interest so will be sold very soon, so I would have been given Notice to Quit on grounds of it being sold and needing vacant possession - so my children and I would have been homeless anyway.
So to conclude - I am asking you for your help with regard to getting the Housing Dept at *** to allow me to give them much more detailed medical information as I am not alone in believing that my depression and anxiety over the last few years is the cause of the situation in which I find myself now.
We are having to leave ****** on Thursday 8th Nov (next) so would ask for your URGENT help in this matter to enable us to be allocated local authority housing.
Kind regards,"
Just sent this by letter and email to my MP - what do you think?
Also just heard from HLO and she is trying to arrange temp accom with a local Housing Assoc and she will let me know by Monday or Tuesday!Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0
