The most frightening thing is that very soon this system is going to be brought in to housing benefit for the public sector tenants instead of h/b being transferred to the housing department in local authoritys and housing associations etc it will be paid direct to claimant . We will just have to wait and see what the out come of that is.

I'm not sure this is correct.. I'm a housing association tenant and i receiving housing benefit for both myself and my partner, which is paid directly to the housing association on our behalf from the council. when i read about the Local housing allowance (LHA) coming in here (first i'd heard of it TBH), i went to read up about it on the DWP site. From everything i've read - both DWP and Manchester City Council (where i live)'s sites - seem to confirm that for council and social housing tenants nothing will change, housing benefit will continue to be paid, directly to the landlord. LHA rules kick in if you move to private rental and make a new claim after April 2008 (unless you're in one of the pilot areas of the country).

MOT: I've been a lurker on this page for a while now. I've been totally shocked at what you've been going through and i really hope this gets resolved soon. *hugs*.

    Hi

It will not change for you in April, But i was pointing out that the intention is that public sector housing will be piloted in the near furture, the date of the first pilots are still to be announced.

Sorry if I made it sound as if it was coming in this year for social housing.

As for the harrasment, well i've partially read the thread and MOT never really quotes any serious harrasment.

But before everyone starts to gang up on me, I am also sympathetic to MOT for going through a rough patch in her life and I wish her all the best, I am just saying that there is another side of the coin.

Before everyone gangs up on you, maybe you should take the time to read ALL the thread. It may clarify a few things.

Glad you had a late night MoT - getting away was probably the best thing to do!

Am waiting patiently for the Pleasure Beach end-of-illuminations fireworks to start....lights out at 11.30 tonight!

How are the twins? Did they go with you to your friends?

Well actually I have, you will also notice I wished MOT all the best?, I just happen to think that there are two sides to the story.

Anyway this thread is about how to support MOT so i'm out of here and hope all goes well for MOT.

Hope you're enjoying the fireworks Floss!!

Twins went to their Dad's which is in the same town as my friend. I think my friend is going off the rails a bit at the moment (she kicked her husband out a couple of weeks ago - she found out 6 months ago that he was and still is having an affair) so she's taken to going to the town centre on a Sat night (which is really naff) and going to the local 'meat market' - I had to go with her last night and it was bl**dy awful:eek: then when we got home she still kept going til way after 3am - quite worried about her as this is not like her at all:confused: so I'm off to bed now as completely .............. tired;) ;)

Let you know tomorrow if and when I hear anything xx

For what? a house, a flat or a garage to put your stuff in?? Can she not tell you, so you can prepare yourself?

That HLO is really poo, MoT. Ring them this afternoon to "arrange" for the signing-up, then you'll know if she's really sorted it or it's on her To-Do list.

BTW, the fireworks were great - very ooohh...aahh - and free!
