Also, when you meet with them, make sure they know that if you appear to be able to manage your affairs now, it's because you've been given a lot of help by other people, without which you wouldn't have known to get a supporting letter from the GP, to contact your MP etc. Make it clear to them that people have been very willing to help you with advice & have been very supportive, but they can't house you.
Definitely don't attend the meeting without professional representation, especially if you don't know whether another appointment will be offered. I know the staff have a job to do, but they'll have a wealth of admin to back up their case, & no matter how calm a person you are the stress of the meeting will get to you. Having a person who actually works in housing and/or knows the law & how to apply the regulations appropriately in your case there will do your confidence the world of good, plus they'll be able to stay focused on what needs to be said/argued without getting emotionally involved.BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."

I know he hasnt the room but they may say well its somewhere!!! Just trying to cover all avenues. Have you contacted your MP to accompany you tmwr they should be able to attend and if its not convienent for the MP tomorrow rearrange it.

Rang Shelter and they say that aren't able to attend with me tomorrow as they don't have the resources to be able to carry out individual council meetings. So have spoken to I-T (who is bringing us all a big chinese for tea) and confirmed that he will be attending with me.Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0

I have read I-T posts and I am absolutely sure that his presence will be of great help to you.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.

Um I don't know if it would be advisable to attend this meeting without professional support. It seems that this meeting is just a formality so they can dot the i's and cross the t's, so everything looks good for the councillor & mp.
If you do go I think you need to make sure that you write down all the points you want to make and give them a copy to go in your file. You also need to write down all the questions you want to ask about how they came to their decision and if necesssary take notes. Otherwise it's very easy to forget important points you want to make or to get sidetracked. I think you need to use this time to your advantage as it is unlikely that the decision will be reversed.0 -
I-t and I going to sit down tonight and go through all the posts on this thread and make notes, although at the moment I must admit to not being in a fit state to concentrate - can't stop crying.Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0
