    Hi HC,

Yes contacted Shelter at the very start of all this along with CAB who were not much help unfortunately, but I do have a CLS advisor standing by if the Council's decision is negative.
 just lost long reply ,upshot of which was I know someone who went through this

evicted, presented themselves at housing(on day of eviction as advised) ,were given emergency housing that night (temporary) then told they had basically made themselves homeless and they had to find somewhere to live

they like you have now got bad credit with renting so find it hard but there was a list of landlords willing to accept with minimal or no deposit and housing benefit paid direct

not an ideal situation but they were not homeless

they were also warned ,if they could not sort it out ,then the council only had a duty to the children and they would be put into temporary care:eek: if they could not find anywhere once the temporary housing was up
Fear God and dread nought

MOT - incredible that this is still dragging on. So angry that you and your kids aren't getting the attention and support you should.

Next time you ask if Snr HLO is available and isn't, ask for the spelling of her name so that the papers have it correct. Hopefully that'll startle her into action.

Unfortunately not got any ideas to progress this, but my thoughts are with you.

MOT I work for a local authority (in the mailroom and printing section) and I am not surprised how unhelpful they have been, it disgusts me how many of my colleagues think they are employed for their own benefit and not the benefit of the public. I wish you luck MOT

    Thanks for that AD.

Re: HC's 2nd post to me - I know that I am in the wrong for not having been able to pay my rent but I have had a lot of mitigating circumstances which anyone at the council with an ounce of human feeling in their bones would hopefully understand that sometimes things in life just don't go as planned.

But its also the sheer length of time that this is taking and the enormous pressure heaped on top of the depression that is so awful to contend with.

    Hi mumoftwins,

I'm another one who has just found this thread (yesterday), read through the whole thing, and wanted to tell you that you have my very best wishes!

Quiet persistence often wins through in the end, so stick with it!

    All the best,

Just spoken to Head of Housing who said she will get the Senior HLO to call me but it will be this afternoon

    OK, deep breath....

Now, ring the head of Housing again, tell them that the Senior HLO HASN'T rung, you have had to ring them , and you have been told they have "just gone into a meeting". Say that this is not acceptable asthe Head of Housing promised you that Senior HLO would call you and then ask the Head of Housing to call you back at 4.30 with an answer, otherwise you will be ringing the Chief Executive to make a formal complaint against the Homeless Department, and the HLO & the Senior HLO in particular.

I totally agree or keep ringing the housing every 10/15 mins asking for the senior HLO they will surely put you thru to someone:rolleyes: This is disgusting:mad:

Do what Floss says - but get the Name of the Convenor of Housing services too -this is the elected member of the Council who chairs their housing Committee, get them into the loop as well.
