Hello all,
This is an absolutely cream crackered MOT logging in to say hi after a frantic weekend:D
The WotY was lovely - a little more sombre than we expected but that was probably due to the 'oldies' on our table and my cousin's 2 boys (1 age 10 and 1 age 6 who is the son of Damien:eek: ) the oldies frowned at the behaviour of the 6yr old who was sitting next to me (deliberately me thinks:think: ) and who I tried to amuse and distract from using phrases such as 'do you think they (the oldies) fart????? and also from describing everything on his plate as 'dog poo':rotfl: - all of which was done repeatedly and at the top of his voice:o.
The Egyptian entertainment was good fun with belly dancing being the highlight, but again IT and I wished we were sitting with the Egyptians as they were having so much fun clapping and swaying to the music whilst some of the people on our table were like sitting with the 'living dead' . By the time the disco started a lot of people had left so we had a few dances and then left at about 11pm.
But I must say that the drink was flowing freely, never before have I had so much free champagne at a wedding, and so much BEFORE the meal either!
The one thing that put a dampner on the day were my shoes - ouch!!!! They really hurt and as soon as we sat down for the meal they were off and under the table:rotfl: .
Managed a bit of a lie in this morning before taking Mum back to the hotel to meet the other relatives for her lift home, then went off to meet a friend from the Midlands who was down for the weekend. Had lunch out with her at our local pub then staggered home to promptly fall asleep on settee until twins came back (3 glasses of red wine at lunch time has that effect on me;) ).
I-T just left to go back to his and I don't think it'll be long before we're all in bed:D .
Guess I may hear something tomorrow??!!

I think MOT has described the WOTY admirably. The sun was shining and the service was wonderful made all the more WOW! by the location. Imagine a rich families enormous country pile, now an hotel, set in several acres of beautiful gardens, with a vinery, plus golf course, with flunkies everywhere and valet parking. Get the picture? The kid with the three 6s' on the back of his head made the meal entertaining, especially as we seemed to have a table of people that were obviously suffering from piles or some other obnoxious ailment! The food was ok but not as grand as the location, but the belly dancer livened the afternoon up somewhat. Some of the Egyptian guests were colourfully dressed and I have to say they are a very polite and genial race. The disco was a little disappointing and MOT and I had fewer dances than we would have liked. Egyptian pop music is not to my taste and would have got nil point at Eurovision. At least MOT was able to forget her woes and believe me she looked absolutely stunning with or without shoes. Now it is fingers and toes crossed for some good news on the housing front. Ciao for now everybody.0

Hi all,
Well its half term and the twins and I are having a lazy day at home keeping warm and generally just tatting about - a bit of housework here, tidying up and watching daytime tv.
Keep checking emails to see if HLO has sent the decision through yet - but nowtthought I would have heard by now. Postman not been yet so may get something in the post
.
The waiting is awful..........................Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -
Hi MOT
glad you had a brill time at the wedding...yes waitings awful, take the kids for a brisk walk ( tut Anna your a lazy git you dont walk anywhere!!!!)..I do so hope you here something this week.
Go to the council office and tale a picnic and the kids and do a genteel sit in lol. Nothing like a couple of well behaved children and a genteel frantic mom to make them feel that there doing nowt practical.I know your not probably in favour of bringing the children to the forefront but it wouldnt half help if the HLO saw that the children are there supporting you, might make her get of his/her skinny !!! and get a bleedin move on.Then he/she can mentally picture you as a family and not names on a bit of paper, failing that Im sure I have a scud missile in me back garden shed what council was it again ?????? thats upsetting you.
Joking apart I wouldnt wait for an email from them , just a polite phone call from you to them asking how the situations progressing and reminding her of your date of leaving is imminent, keep your smile on your face, its gonna be a long week I suspect but dont be frightened of making them know your there and will be heard.Keeping everything crossed that things work out soon for you all.
Lots positive vibes and (((hugs)))
AnnaI so want to be like thisu:rotfl: :rotfl: :j :j but feel like this:mad:         all the time and wondering how the heck did I get into debt.....0 -
I do NOT £"&^%$* believe it:mad:
Just rang HLO to see what the situation is to be told that she's on annual leave until Wednesday:mad:
Asked if there was someone else that could help me and they said 'no she is your HLO and you will have to wait for her return on Wednesday'
Does no-one dealing with this take it seriously???
Anna, took twins with me last Wednesday when I took the Drs report in so HLO could see that I didn't have unruly, ASBO type kids, she made no comment not even a 'hello' to them!Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -
Right, ring your Councillor mate & tell them that this is not acceptable. She should have left everything in place to be picked up be her boss in her absence.....
Tomorrow, take the kids into town & park them at the library while you go & lay siege to the Homeless Office....be calm & polite (it really irritates when they can't kick you out for being shouty & rude!) but ask to see the Head of Service, say you are not leaving until you are seen and if they aren't available, you will see the Chief Executive. Also, call your MP's office & ask if they have had a response from the Council....because you haven't heard anything yet.
Big Hugs :grouphug: to you & the twins
I-T, think she may need special care tonight....

I am thinking that Mum of Twins should write a diary of this long convoluted tale it would hopefully get published and could help others in the same position I have found it fascinating, upsetting, funny and annoying even though I have no personal knowledge (thank god) of any of this. It may even make her/you some money!!! Whilst I am here is there a way of finding this thread again easily- I just put eviction in the search bit then looked through but can it be marked or something to come back to it quickly? We are all desperate to hear your news and hope it is exciting.
this is an excellent idea there is so little information on this subject.
I saw an oline blog on something similar on the bbc website recently
