Whilst writing I have heard from MM who has said that the Council have agreed it would be detrimental for Chair of Appeal to sit on the panel due to her connections with the W's. They are also considering the request for a totally independent committee from another local authority but at this short notice he's not sure how this will work out.

Fantastic news! I really hope you get the result you deserve xxx

    Now that is a result. :T :T :T

Fingers crossed again for an independant appeal. Glad the psychiatric report was helpful.

    Thanks Chev,

I'd really like to post it on here for your comments but feel that I can't for a while:confused:

  • I have read the report and it is very thorough and makes interesting reading. He runs through all the written tests taken by MOT and those carried out by myself and quotes the results. He discusses his interview of MOT and his study of her file. His diagnosis concludes that MOT has been and still is suffering from a Mental Disorder; I won't go into details here as it doesn't seem appropriate. He does say that if not treated and an improvement made to her housing situation the 'Disorder' is likely to get worse. He makes it quite clear that he found MOT to be a very honest person and that his tests show that she was being helpful, genuine and not trying to pull a fast one. He recommends immediate therapy by a medical professional. The most crucial statement in the report is his conclusion that her rent arrears were not a deliberate attempt to become homeless but were caused by her mental health problems. I paraphrase but that is the gist. It is what I always knew but couldn't put a name to. So now MOT has to get help via her GP and let us hope that DBC now reach some understanding of MOT's problems and come to the right and proper decision.
  • Hi MoT,

I've just skim read through this enormous thread, and just wanted to say that I think you are incredibly strong! I'm sure many people would be a heap on the floor by now having gone through what you have, and yet you're still fighting, and with a sense of humour!

All best wishes to you, and I really really hope everything comes good in the end!
