True Floss - but it will do no harm whatsoever to let mot's Solicitor know the situation - he will be better able to make an informed decision, based on his experience of similar tribunals.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

I agree Rog2, but on the other hand, anyone who reads the local paper or listens to local radio in MoT's area may have formed their own opinion, and realistically any of the other panellists for MoT's appeal could have done so already through the media, without being acquainted with the ex-LL's wife. One would hope that as a public-serving figure, the Chair has refused to listen to any comments related to any appeals panel. Then again, how do we know that ex-LL's wife is supporting him? She may be on MOT's side! Stranger things have happened!
What matters is that the facts are put to the panel in a way that will support the claim that the decision was made without information that was available at the time and / or withuout a recommended procedure being carried out to give such information. A mouthful I know, but the LL is a separate issue, which the police are now handling.
Have managed to break the embargo MoT, but will have to revert back under the restrictions again now!
Love to all, Floss xx
I'm afraid that Mrs W (LL's wife) is very much in support of her husband and not at all understanding of MOT's financial difficulties and health problems. The LL put the matter of arrears in the hands of his solicitor and he should 'but out' and let his legal representative deal with this matter. You don't get a dog and do the barking yourself! It is not for the LL, or indeed his wife, to concern themself with MOT's homelessness or her application for Council property. Sending vindictive emails to MOT advances the LL's case not one jot and smacks of someone simply trying to stir up trouble and being revengeful. As for any 'conflict of interest' by the Chair, people are human with human reactions and if she does have a connection via the LL's wife then it would be entirely understandable (but not necessarily just) if she were influenced by her, contrary to MOT's appeal. I believe MOT's solicitor is the best person to deal with that matter and the LL's solicitor to deal with historic rent arrears.
I do hope the LL or his wife are following this.0 -
If the landlord was weighing up his chances of getting the rent arrears paid, surely MOT being in a stable home with the possibility of being well enough to work and earn some money would be his best bet?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
