I've only just started reading thus sorry saga. MOT big hugs for you and children. Sorry where do you have to pay the money back to which you were hoping to get from Crisis Loan? Can you get a loan from anywhere else?
The whole case is so incredible. Everybody has failed you.
I'm so sorry,
Thanks for reading.
I don't have to repay anyone but myself - I had to use all the maintenance and tax credits to pay for the removal costs last month which left me absolutely broke. So I was hoping that some, if not all, would come back from the Crisis Loan application. It now means when the maintenance arrives this week that that will have to be used to pay for the rent on this flat (£64.00 a week after HB have paid their part) and the rest will have to go to pay for the storage costs of my furniture - so goodness only knows how I will be able to buy the twins or I-T any Christmas presents.

I know your ex has caused you a lot of pain in the past but he obviously pays maintenance and spent a considerable sum of money on the children last weekend. (Rightly so!) As his childrens stability and security is severely threatened by all you are going through can he not help towards a deposit on another flat. I know you don't get the security renting privately. I am in that position and I do worry about our future, but if you could rent without problems for a year or so and council can see you are a model tennant which you obviously are then couldn't you be put on waiting list for council housing?
Sorry if I'm repeating things already covered.0 -
MoT, obviously to get a Crisis Loan from your local DWP office, you would probably need to have been a known substance-abuser (alcohlic / drug taker) AND have had your children taken into care...... they know those criteria do not fit so they've refused you!
Why do they use H & S as an excuse? Forgive me for being a little cynical, but surely that would exclude most, if not all, applications? Ahah, I see, they're being MoneySaving......:mad:0 -

Are you sure you are getting all the benefits you are entitled to? That rent level seems very high considering you are in receipt of HB.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Bl00dy hell MOT i'm sorry but this is just unbeleivable!!!!! I am right at this moment absurdly ashamed to have anything to do with this country and it's government.
I just only wish, so so hard that I was in a solvent situation and able to help you out as I feel so so sorry for the situation that you are in. It's ridiculous and I as i'm sure we all do feel profoundly helpless other than to offer you our love support and hugs. The saving grace is that you have so many people here that can offer you amazing advice for the appeal.

MOT, is there a Credit Union near you that will perhaps give you a loan?
Only a suggestionToday, my BEST is good enough.0 -

Ampersand, I phoned the Gazette as soon as I heard so she will be including that in the article.
There is a Credit Union here but I'm not sure how you go about joining and how quickly I could get a loan?
Have completed a Community Care Grant form from the DWP and sent it off but knowing how things go with me it will go to Outer Mongolia and back several times before it reaches the right person and they then tell me no.

Have just looked up the local Credit Union:
"Currently **CU does not charge more than 1% interest on the monthly reducing balance. This facility is available once a new member has been a regular saver for about 8 weeks. We also have a scheme to help those who wish to claim an “emergency loan”.
I'm hot footing it down there tomorrow between 10 and 11 am!Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -
Received text from I-T earlier, he has had to go home and go to bed as he now has a migraine - my problems really affect him and I worry that I cause him too much grief, he doesn't deserve thisChristians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0
