Well Done, I-T, give our regards to mot. Hopefully it will start to become LESS stressful, now that you've got a solicitor acting on her behalf.

Thanks for the update I-T sorry it has been so stressful for MOT, but at least things are moving toward a fair and proper result.

    Thankyou IT -
The big thing in having a legal beagle on the scent>track>bark trail is the knowledge of no longer being in sole target isolation.
Whatever now arrives moves straight on, to capable hands and minds who've expertly run this course before, many times.
mot, I hope you give yourself a huge pat on the back for the mere fact of XX agreeing to represent you(yes, SF - it's a firm with form and any Court and Council will know it)
Your capable endurance till now, your endeavour and your utter worthiness will have marked you out for them, over and above the strengths of your case.
YOU, MOT, YOU HAVE ACHIEVED THIS, so WELL DONE!

Just a last 'nighty-night' for you to find if you have a restless wee small hours wake-up and wander, mot.
You've had two huge roller-coaster days, but they're over now.
Good things are coming from them already.
No-one would be surprised if you feel, by odd turns, drained and empty, yet strangely elated; wrung out and raw, yet daring to hope.
Did you successfully postpone DD's school meeting? Very much hope so - just one thing at a time, remember.

Another night-soul offering - for all who may care/need to read it, from Cavafy(a mentor for Auden):
    'By the Open Window'

In the calm of the autumn night
I sit by the open window
    For whole hours in perfect
    Delightful quietness.
The light rain of leaves falls.
The sigh of the corruptible world
    Echoes in my corruptible nature.
But it is a sweet sigh, it soars as a prayer.
My window opens up a world
    Unknown. A source of ineffable,
    Perfumed memories is offered me;
Wings beat at my window -
    Refreshing autumnal spirits
Come unto me and encircle me
And they speak with me in their innocent tongue.
    I feel indistinct, far-reaching hopes
    And in the venerable silence
Of Creation, my ears hear melodies,
    They hear crystalline, mystical
Music from the chorus of the stars.

    Morning all,

Floss, you are quite right in that I feel much happier now that I know I have legal help - it means so much to know that I can 'hand' this over to someone who will be able to deal with the council on my behalf and that the only thing I have to do is provide information as and when they need it.

Thank you Ampersand for those lovely words which were very comforting to read at 5am this morning when I got up - have managed to sleep in at I-T's but now I'm back in the flat I've woken early again:mad: .

As I-T says I have a lot of my own paperwork to fax to solicitor today, then HA Support Worker is visiting me at 1.30pm.

Childrens, Schools and Families woman came yesterday pm (Social Services) and was lovely - she said that the twins are healthy and well cared for. She asked DD what she could do to help her and DS and DD said 'Just make sure Mummy has enough support' and then cried! The CSF woman was so kind to her. She said that she doesn't think we have needs in the way other families do but that our obvious need is to housed somewhere permanently and she will speak to her Manager to see what they can do to help. DS's bullying at school was mentioned and she will contact school to see what she can do to help and is also arranging for me to have counselling. She took details of persons involved with the twins so will more than likely be contacting I-T and my parents, she has the details of their father but when she asked me why we divorced she realised that I was unable to say in front of the the twins so will call me to discuss - hopefully before she contacts him (as he is a nasty b**t*rd and will no doubt twist things to make life more difficult for me).

    Hi MoT,

You can concentrate on chasing up information now, rather than trying to work out what to present to the Council. And with the breathing space given by getting the date moved, it gives the legal bods more time to gather a firm case to support you.

Was there much in your file that you weren't aware of? I remember you said that Ll had been a little economic with the truth in his correspondence?!

Are the twins gearing up for Christmas? Did you decide where you are for Christmas Day & who's with you yet? My DS's have told me when they are with us & when with their dad & new wifey, and appear to have actually communicated between each other to sort it out - AND they're going to be in the same places at the same time! This is quite amazing as they haven't really spoken to each other since last Christmas! Hey ho, means we get 2 Christmas pressie sessions though!

    Love to all,

    Floss xx

    Hi Floss,

I am going to go through my file later so will update you on that then.

We're at I-T's for Christmas - Christmas day it is just the 4 of us, then Boxing Day we'll probably go to my parents and my old neighbours want to get together too during the break. New Year will be at I-T's too with his family - so looking good:j . I-T has never spent a Christmas at home so it will be a first for him!

The twins are getting excited but a little less than normal but I think thtas just our situation. I asked their father if he would like to see them over New Year but he replied that he will be away for the whole Christmas and New Year period - presumably somewhere hot with his new girlfriend:confused: .

Thank goodness for I-T and his love for my children!

Do they see much of their dad? Mine were supposed to be there every other weekend (as long as he had nothing else on, and they kept the time free for him). As time went on they went less, now they see him about 2-3 times a year! It's my DF who does the "dad" type-things, like moving them to Uni, discussing Terry Pratchett or Isaac Asimov books with eldest, or playing guitar with the younger one!! He's also the soft touch when they're skint....not like their mum :D
