Absolutely makes sense. I did really go for it especially towards the end. I understand the wobbles ....but as the figure really started to fall it all seemed achievable ....go for it girl :)
I think my wobble came right at the end when we had no savings and I had cleared the final amount by borrowing from the business. There was a spell where I wrote my totals down every night to feel a sense of control. Looking back it wasn't as close to the wire as I thought because I had kept my credit card clear so that would have done as a safety net I suppose.
Am watching progress...will remind you not to wobble...
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Thanks so much sweetie (but sorry you were awake at silly o'clock again). A good point as well re. CC - we don't have one, but could get one if needs be as a safety net. We need this mortgage gone. Thanks again xx

NSD ahead, save for eBay postage which doesn't really count. I have a long list of admin jobs to do; kiddies at home still this week so they can 'help'!

Will report back later x

Having had a slow year this year (I'm SE, but fortunately DH isn't), I can definitely agree that it's important to get the mortgage down when the sun is shining! I'm hoping for a better year this year (there's certainly been a lot of work promised), so hopefully we can get back on an even keel. (I do always have a savings pot that is there for the lean months though - it's the peace of mind I need. Although, once we get to as close as Watty was, I'd pay it off too!)

• So today has been manic. DH phoned me this morning to say someone has run into the back of him. No-one hurt, but van a mess. So this morning was lost to dealing with insurance etc whilst kiddies had to watch the iPad as I couldnt deal with them at the same time!

Hmmph. Did manage to do a load of other admin too, so it's not been a totally lost day.

Thankfully your DH wasn't hurt, but probably shook him up a bit. Just what you didn't need, a load of admin relating to the insurance company.

What a start to the new year - hopefully that's the bad out of the way right at the start and the rest will be positive

Wow, glad no one was hurt, bit of a pain though, probably could have done without all the phone calls and admin, however everything is sent to try us.

Know what you mean by "that 2018 was the year that I ruddy well went for it :T" as thinking along the same lines, however not a wobble in sight as far as mortgage balance goes, BUT plenty today as I tried my hand at MB - got my knickers in a right old twist, seems I came across something which quote

"It's a pretty rare scenario" - cue - panic stations !!! Only I could come across a rare scenario on my 1st free bets - not for the faint hearted (or the HBP brigade) :D

Glad your DH (and anyone else) wasn't hurt ATB, but what a pain! Hope you get it sorted with minimal problems.

• Thanks guys - exactly that, the main thing is that he isn't hurt. We do have quite an excess to pay which will hurt though!

AFK - I dabbled in MB last year. I exhausted all the easy free bets through Oddsmonkey then abandoned it. Made an easy £200 though. Let me know if I can help at all x

Just OPd £182, being the ebay sales money for the past week. A friend has asked me to give her a hand with her small business for a few hours tomorrow, in exchange for £50, and has also asked me to help on Saturday too, so with a bit of luck I should have £100 to OP by the time the weekend is out :j

Nipping to the big yellow and blue shed this morning :D but will get a free cuppa with my family card, the kids can play for free in the creche for an hour and then have a hotdog each afterwards - parenting wins :rotfl:

Happy NSD!
