  • Thanks Michelle, and I hope you get to the bottom of your foot pain very soon xx

My goals post above was a bit waffly, I think, and I need something very clear so that my brain can easily locate them when I look back in time to come!

    So, goals are as follows:

    1. Reduce mortgage balance by £10k by 31.3.18 to £105,000
    2. Reduce mortgage balance to £90,000 by 31.12.18

I have updated my signature to keep a running tally of the £10k challenge. So far this shows what I have sold on fleabay; I have some extra work to do next week which should net me around £100 which will be nice.

    We WILL do this!
    MFW :)

Nor me, but I am being very ruthless ATM. Far too much stuff has come in over Christmas so a lot has to go out.

I'm shattered now. Early bath and pjs for me; was going to take the dog out again but it's persisting it down.

  • I am looking forward to tomorrow so much - online banking gets back to normal, and on Wednesday our online mortgage account will be up to date (mortgage is paid tomorrow).

I had a bit of a wobble earlier, as I sometimes do. Because we are both self-employed, adopting our gung-ho approach to OPing is both the right thing to do (because we have to fling the cash at it when we have it, business can be booming or slow, never a middle ground), and the wrong thing to do, as it leaves us with no safety net at all.

But the best months for OPing we have had is when I haven't wobbled, just stealthily carried on ploughing money into the mortgage. So I hereby pledge that I am not going to wobble in 2018. Even if we march through the year making plenty of OPs, get to the end of it and have other priorities (usually tax bills!) that need to be paid, I will not fret or wobble, but will say that 2018 was the year that I ruddy well went for it :T

Does this make sense? Hoping Watty sees this as I know she went totally gung-ho to clear her mortgage which took huge guts as she is self-employed too.

On that note, off to pay the PAYE/NI for the last month :o
