Come on ATB, you can do it!! Put SJ to shame!! Lol!
Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
Starting Mortgage Balance (June 2019) £72,000.
Aiming to be mortgage free by my 40th birthday, June 2026!
  • Morning all,

Thought it would be interesting and motivating (well at least to me!) to post our year to date figures so far.

    Balance at 1.1.17 - £137,510.72

    Balance as at 16.8.17 - £116,440

Total paid off so far this year - £21,070.72

Not too shabby at all and shows we still have around £15k to find by year end to reach 5 figure target (the other £1440 will be dealt with by regular monthly payments).

    I'm pretty happy with that :T x

Great little update. I suppose when we're in the thick of it we cant fully see the overall progress, so a little count back is very motivating (scurries off to check our 6 months progress!!).

Exactly my thinking SJ, and I needed a little motivation to make me stop beating myself up for how little we have achieved over the past month. Ebay does beckon today, aiming for 5 items on, watch this space though :rotfl:

Great mortgage reduction figures. I was saying to my two today that I think 4 weeks is ample for the summer holidays.

Will keep an eye on you and SJ whilst you both steam towards 5 figures!

Amazing progress ATB! :) Don't feel bad about this month - we all need a bit of slack sometimes, just so we can come back at it with renewed focus... and it can't be easy entertaining two children all the time!

  • Thanks everyone for your encouraging comments. It is just me and DD today (DS at grandma's tonight) so we went to Pizza Express for a treat. It was really reasonable - 3 course kids meal for £6.95. She had tap water (always does, which is good as juice was £2!) and I had a cheeky Peroni.

It's raining here now so we are both cosied up on the sofa. I intend to photograph and list some ebay bits whilst she has some tablet time.

We made over £1k on ebay in January this year - if I can re-channel that focus again I think we could net around £300 from stuff just lying around. Wish me luck!
