  • Morning all,

Last week of school holidays, normality returns on Monday!

Have realised been way too hard on self during school holidays. I don't work in the hols, so earn nothing, compared to usual £500 per month (ish) which all goes into OP pot. Combine that with having to entertain two children all the time, even with doing inexpensive stuff it's still more than normal with less money!

So won't beat self up about not meeting August target (although if tax refund had come on time would have met it).

Target for end of September is £10k. Will make a start this morning by weighing a few bits in at local cash 4 clothes place - won't get much but better than nowt.

Will also be able to get back into matched betting once kids back at school. Made an easy £350 in one week last time, but just cannot focus on it when kids demand my attention every 30 seconds!
    MFW :)

Don't beat yourself up, ATB, you set incredibly difficult targets and most of the time you manage to meet them, despite this!

And I do find that the ability to find things to get rid of/sell comes in waves (I guess once everything's been decluttered you have to wait for the clutter to build up a bit before there's stuff that can go!) - the down times are when it's hard to find the extra pennies.

    Here's to 10K in September!

  • Last day of school holidays here. Today will be spent sorting uniforms, bags, PE kits etc. Looking forward to not constantly being referee/bum wiper/nose wiper/toy tidier (well, for at least a few hours a day )

If I get chance today I will look at our household finance spreadsheet to see where we are falling down. I think that we can save approx £500 of the household 'spare' money PCM, so that would be £2k by year end. We will see.

    Have great days x

  • Signature updated. Sadly only amounts shaved off by regular monthly payments are reducing actual balance, but savings are growing well so in my head I am off-setting the two.

June 2018 our deal comes to an end and we can make unlimited OPs. Already decided to stay on bank tracker (unless something drastic changes) rather than commit to another fix which caps OPs. It seems a long way away but no doubt will come round very quickly.

  • It's nice to see the boards so busy, I had dropped down to page 3!

Full of a rotten cold so once the children are dropped off it will be a day dosed up on the sofa. I will be mainly assessing our household budget, chasing some money up for DH business and fine tuning my little plan to be in five figures by the New Year. That is around £16k in 4 months, I must be mad, but we really need to go at this all guns blazing.

NSD yesterday, and £30 shuffled into OP pot. Today will be a NSD too. Will need to ring and pay for the next block of DD swimming lessons (£75 ) tomorrow so that puts paid to a run of NSDs!
