    Bluetooth headphones?

I'd rather stick with my £15-£20 Sony headphones, than spent almost over £50 on the cheapest decent bluetooth headphones.

Edit: also bluetooth - a great way to drain your battery! No thanks!

The lightning cable for headphones annoys me, which is why I won't be getting the iphone 7, the lightning cables are flimsy as anything and break within a year usually, so this is also just another money making exercise! (£200 for the wireless ear phones - no thanks!)

I'll be sticking with my iPhone 5 for now, and if that dies, I'll get an SE. My iPhone 5 is awesome, I've dropped it hundreds of times and still not broke - touch wood.

Or you could use the adapter that comes with the 7 and plug any headset onto it.

Lets be honest. Given the fail rate of charge cables and the nature of headphone use.
That adapter isnt going to last long.

£50 will get you a quality set of ( Sony) bluetooth phones.
I leave my bluetooth on 24/7 alongside wifi. Mind I dont use an iphone,so dont know how poor your battery performance is.

A lot of people complain about the cables failing, but I have had an 4, a 5 and a 6+. my daughter has has a 4s and a 5 and my son has had a 4 and a 5. we have never had to buy a replacement lead.

My thought too - I think the lightning cable is Apple's crappiest invention ever. (Either that, or their cleverest money-making scheme ever...)

Also, how can you charge the phone and use headphones at the same time?

    Dont worry sir/madam.
We have that covered for a mere £49

Well, to me it's now two actions where before it was one, so a backward step.

If you choose to have an iPhone then surely you must welcome backwards steps!. Lol
