Actually I have a Macbook in the house with a USB-C socket. It was quite hard to get a good lead/adaptor for it.
On a phone though? It would rather point up the fact that Apple iPhones prevent people straightforwardly transferring data in and out via USB memory sticks or drives.
Yup cables are in short supply as its so new.
Why not on a phone? Apple buyers seem content paying for add ons and using extra software.
Trust me,for its charging capabilities alone you want USB C on your phone.0 -
So I'd need a different pair of earphones to plug into the dock? Duh?
Well if you wanted to use the same pair of earphones you would use the 3.5mm adapter for when your not charging and three dock for when you are charging, so then you can use the same pair of 3.5mm headphones all the time.
But don't blame me, your the one who chose to have an iPhone lol.0 -
I do like the current oval Apple earphones, the previous Apple version was a weakness. I've 2 pairs of them for different locations and use them with Earskinz. That are cheap to replace these days, boxed new ones being on eBay for around £10. Having to use them with that easy to mislay adaptor would be a real pain though. Think I'm ready to skip a generation of Apple phones and see if the industry one day standardises on USB C.0

The lightning cable is rubbish. When I had an iPhone 5, I think I replaced them on 8 weeks on average. Always had a spare as bought them on Groupon and anywhere I saw them on offer.
Always failed where the cable met with the plug.
Only other time I bought an additional cable or charger for my mobile when I was at university. So had a charger at home and student digsThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

You mean Apple have finally designed a pair of earphones which don't leak music due to the bud not creating a good seal in the ears?
Apple won't standardise on USB, they make too much money from licensing out Lightning connections

Have no fear of serious design improvements from Apple, the lozenge style Apple earphones make no seal at all and fall out on a sneeze. Adding Earskinz makes them at least fit snugly, stay in and improves the bass. You mean Apple have finally designed a pair of earphones which don't leak music due to the bud not creating a good seal in the ears?
