I didn't pay rent for months then ran. What should I do?

I thought you were all money saving experts, not high riding knights poking your moral lances at me. If you want to give somebody a refresher in morality I suggest you turn your heads to arms dealers, drug smugglers, people traffickers, politicians, bankers and any other group with an immoral twitch.
Not me. I'm not interested.
Others, who answered my questions, thank you for not letting your emotions come over you. I respect that.0 -

They didn't cotton on untill I needed my boiler repaired and I got in contact with them.
This made me laugh. OP can't be bothered to pay his rent, but as soon as his boiler is on the blink he's on the phone telling them to fix it.
Welcome to the entitled generation.0 -

We aren't all like that, but go ahead and make generalisations ...
OT: you owe that money to the landlord. £1500 is a lot of money to a lot of people, and they may have been using that to pay their mortgage or put food on the table. If you have so much debt after leaving uni, that's more a matter of your poor financial skills than anything else. Perhaps you should have focused on paying off your existing debt before seeking more?
"Naughty I know" - if you think the word "naughty" is strong enough for your actions, you need to reconsider your morals I'm afraid.
No sympathy here! Pay your debts and act like an adult. It's shameful.

I'm shocked nobody asked if their deposit was protected or a gas safety check was done to use as blackmail to get out of paying the debt.
If that wasn`t done the landlord doesn`t deserve to get the money paid back, and in the case of gas safety should go to jail, but maybe that is the reason it hasn`t been pursued, because basic compliance checks were not done? Couldn`t the landlord claim some or all of the owed rent from the agent, as they are supposed to collect rent on the landlord`s behalf?0 -
Crashy Time - I think you missed the point.
Explanation = Snooks was being ironic. It wasn't meant to be taken as literal advice.0 -
Pay what you owe.
the landlord is out of pocket, he was paying the mortgage but didn't receive the rent from you when you stayed there.
Would you be happy if a tenant didn't pay you the rent when it was due ?0 -

Ok, but has the landlord got a claim with the agent?0 -

You're not going to go far in life pal. What a university space wasted.
Was it media studies per chance?0 -

The moneysaving tips offered, both on Martin's main site and on this forum, are all legal tips.
The main site does not advise how to get away with criminal activity like theft, nor how to avoid paying debts owed under civil law.
Out of interest I did a quick google to see if I could find you a more appropriate forum, but this was the closest I could find:
