Ashton moss unfair parking charge

Help! I tonight parked on Ashton moss car park that I use a lot, it was busy and after driving around finding no spaces in the dark I got tired of my nagging hungry other half and decided to park on the kerb next to five guys (not in a bay, not on any lines and not obstructing anybody) and came back to a ticket, I do not find this fair one bit as because it was dark I could see no signs of anything that stated I could not do this, I was in a leased vehicle is there anything I can do?

What is the name of the private parking company?

You need to inform the hire company that you will be dealing with this and they must not pay on your behalf.

You then need to appeal to the parking company before they contact the hire company.

Please read the Sticky thread for NEWBIES on how to do this.
I married my cousin. I had to...
    I don't have a sister. :D
    All my screwdrivers are cordless.

  • The company that issued the ticket was UKPC, I do not see how issuing a ticket to someone NOT parked in a bay, on lines, or even obstructing anybody Is even viable
  • I have read a couple of posts on this topic, would you advise complaining to land owner about this? It's An absolute joke for somebody to Be penalised for parking where there is no markings

Yes, if you read the NEWBIES thread you will find complaining to the landowner is the first suggestion.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • In regards to it being a leisure park who would I actually contact? I can't see my to find a owner on google

Try searching for the name of the place on here.

Or do they have their own website & 'contact us'?

  • I've just found it isn't owned by "muse developments" I have read in forums to never admit to being the driver of the vehicle, would this still apply in regards to contacting them with them being the landowner?
  • It is owned** autocorrect

Correct, telling them who was driving the vehicle is doing their job for them. If they don't know who the driver was, then they can chase the keeper (you), but to do that they have to follow the correct procedures under the pofa 2012, which they probably won't. Read the newbies and sticky threads and it should become clearer.
  • The only thing that's confusing me about all this is it wasn't a lease vehicle not my own, I was planning to say "Hi, I recently visited your leisure park and upon returning to the vehicle found a parking charge notice issued by UKPC, I think this is outrageous as there was not any parking spaces so the vehicle was left on a bit of curb where there was no markings and was not obstructing anything/anyone from entering, leaving or passing I am outraged at the decision for a ticket to be issued in a built up area with low visibility and no spaces.
I look forward to hearing from you soon,
    Kind regards
    Jack."
Sorry for the long paragraphs of stuff and being unconfident in this topic I just find this frustrating and scandalous for this to even have happened.
