Some laws apply in a public place, others are on a road so not all laws apply to a supermarket car park.
I didn't know that. Which do and which don't apply? How are you supposed to know?Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0 -
Legally the must do it.
Are you sure? I witnessed something similar in a supermarket car park. Large car hit a parked car. Drove off. Managed to get the Reg number. As I didn't want to hang around to wait for owner, popped into local police station to report, thinking they could get in touch with owner of both cars. Did not want to know as it was on private land0 -

Yes, I'm sure.
Public place a collision has occurred and due to the paint transfer there's damage to another vehicle.0 -

Thanks all we are going to report to police tomorrow and try to explain it all. I know I'd want someone else to do this if it were me on the other side as it were and aside from her immediate reaction, which she now regrets, my wife wants to try to put things right.0

Maybe think of a good reason why it took you so long to report it.
Other than giving the missus time to sober up.0 -
Go back to Tesco too and report it.
People that drive away like that disgust me. Your wife has potentially cost someone hundreds of pounds worth of damage. I think it is quite unlikely you'll find the other party.0 -

The general rule is if it is accessible by the public... A supermarket car park is. Where as for example private parking for an office isn't as public aren't permitted to use the land.0 -
