Scrape in Tesco car park
Confession time. My wife (no really) pulled our large 4X4 into a small space in Tesco car park today and caught the wing mirror and scraped the door of the car next to her. She then had a total panic moment and drove away. She knows she should have stopped and is now sat at home literally shaking and sweating with worry.
Should she call the police or the store to explain what she did? Will they have CCTV, is she guilt of leaving the scene of an accident, will she get points or a fine?
I'm not sure what to advise her, I'm thinking call the store to see if there were any complaints.
Any thoughts or advise please.

Phone the police and report the incident. If the other driver has seen cctv and the other driver has your reg number then she could be in trouble for leaving the scene.
It must be reported within 24 hours0 -
The chances are that the other driver asked at the store's customer service if anybody had notified them. And they've probably got a copy of their details. So definitely phone them. But, yes, she is guilty of an offence - and the other driver may have been in contact with the police, so call them (101), too.0

Anywhere the public have open access to drive on (such as a large car park) then the laws of the highway apply, Id approach the supermarket and say I found some paint on my mirror, I didn't realise at the time but now I think back I may have scraped someone else's car - can you check the cctv or has anyone asked about it?Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0

Some laws apply in a public place, others are on a road so not all laws apply to a supermarket car park.0 -
I think the least you can do is inform the customer services of what happened and leave your contact details if the other driver wishes to make contact. This will leave you the option to sort things out amicably.I don't like morning people. Or mornings. Or people.0

No they should be reporting the matter to the police at the very least. Telling the
customer services department won't stop them getting points on their licence.0 -

While I appreciate your opinion I would consider that to be the most they could do. And it would also reduce the chances of settling things amicably.I don't like morning people. Or mornings. Or people.0 -
