Happy Birthday to jcr16 & Freyaluck, hope you both have lovely days
Congratulations to alibob30 on the birth of baby George
Nelski, hope you're ok after the crash yesterday, I'm sure you had a couple of medicinal glasses last night to help you recover ;)

Well it's been a long time since I posted on here, things have been a bit hectic lately.

OH has been offered a "too good to turn down" job in Cork in Southern Ireland, so we're packing up & heading off there very soon. House is on the market and I've resigned from work, but my boss is insisting I do my required 3 months notice :( Needless to say my interest level in work has slumped to an all time low! Plus we're off on holiday on Wednesday for a couple of weeks. The calm before the storm...........

Anyway, today has been a very productive day so far - done a huge pile of ironing, taken up some curtains, 1 DW load done, 1 WM load done & nearly dry, lasagne made for tea and I've still had time for a good MSE browse. OH will be home from work in a bit, so then we're off to the gym.

Hope you all have a lovely Sunday
  • Hi all!

I'm having a roast for dinner today....and have pushed the boat out to have a bottle of wine for me and DH to go with ;)

Had a busy week....and the next one promises to be even busier!

    Enjoy your sunday guys:T

well, its 2pm..... and thought id pop by-before faliing asleep on the sofa.... the grandprix is on - its guarunteed to knock me out... all those of you who stuggle to sleep should try it:D

Well. whilst hubby was golfing i had a very OS time, I :-
finished off the pork/veg/barley and that has made 3 pies - with sage pastry that are now in the freezer,
peeled, chopped, blanched and bagged up 3 kilo of carrots for the freezer - have another bag to do tommorrow....3 kilo for 70p..couldnt say no really:rolleyes:
and the peelings, some onion, stock etc have turned into 6 portions of soup for the freezer..
Have made some bread by hand that is now proving -i will leave it to it whilst i sleep:D
Made chicken stock - that i will use when i peel the next bag of carrots, to make some more soup;)
And hubby has just washed up after -roast chicken, roast potatoes, carrot, sweetcorn and cabbage....

Hubby came back from golf weilding a huge bouquet of flowers:D , and handed me 100euros...as he had put his lose change in a bandit machine and it gave him 200euros....so i get half :T ... never ask.. he just wanders in and gives it me:j
So i think i can mark down today as a good one:D ..thing is im not planning on spending the 100 euros.... this website has made me so frugal..... tight fisted really:D ... so im gonna start up a "personal" savings pot.. allready have one each for :gold cahnge, bronze, 2euros, money i get back from returning the bottles, any extra left over from my dbelles shopping challenge.... im getting obssesed:rotfl:

Alibob, that bundle of yours is gorgeous - i think im in love..... my sisters boy was 11lb 10oz and 59cm long -they had assured her he was average all the way through.... she refused everything, until it was too late.... god did he do some dammage....so she had so accept that she would only have the one... he is 15 now and 6ft 4 size 14 shoe and about as far through as a pipe cleaner :rotfl:

Hope you are all having a good day
Frogga - where are you???? you have gone awfully quiet:rotfl: .hope everything is ok and you are having a good weekend

I hope everyone is having a restful day today.

It has been a very busy week here at chez smoky and things are ticking along as usual. The weather has been great for drying this week and we haven't used he tumble dryer at all. The house is clean but untidy due to the kids being home but that will be sorted later.

OH is still very breathless and we are no further on with anything. We have had an appt for Manchester in November and he is back to see the cardiologist in 4 weeks to see how he is doing. He is ok in himself and is pottering around the house as much as he is able to.

We went to the beach yesterday which was lovely and the kids played football and had a go at badmington and we had a bit of a walk but could not go too far.

thbirthda.gifhappy birthday to jcr and freyaluck, have a good one. :D Congratulations alibob - he looks gorgeous. :T :T

Edit, Happy Birthday to Gingham Ribbon too.(Thanks mrs-mix).

Well I am going to have a lazy afernoon I think, going to get a beef curry made for tea and just potter about.

.... is this true GR - why are you keeping it so quiet - happy birthday :)

dissapointed - both dd's have called to say they've overslept! and don't fancy going to the thames festival - wouldn't mind but we weren't leaving till 2pm!!!!!!!! not sure whether to go now - there are engineering works which will double the journey time which doesn't matter when you have company but .... oh bum .... why did they leave it so late. Sigh - will just get on with the cleaning then shall i?
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008
  • Hi all,

Happy Birthday to Gingham Ribbon, jcr and freyaluck. Hope each of you has a lovely day.
Congratulations to alibob and family. Your new addition is absolutely gorgeous.
Nelski, Pen-Pin and JackieO - hope you are all feeling much better soon. Nelski is your car terminal? Hope not.
(((hugs)))) to all who need/want one.
I have lost 4 1/2 lbs this week. :T That brings my total weight loss to a nice round (just like me :D ) 8 lbs! Must remember to update my sig.

Busy weekend - have hardly seen DD. She brought home someone else's sweater from school so we had to drop it off yesterday and she ended up spending the afternoon there and then going to a rollerblade disco at the local leisure centre, where she never stopped for the full hour. She was exhausted when she got back and that = arguments with her DB. She's now at a friend's house and has phoned to say that they are going swimming so can I organise her swimming stuff for her. DS has enjoyed the peace and quiet though.

Have some vegetables roasting in the oven to make soup. DS and I will be having a stir-fry for dinner and DD will be having roast beef with mash, veg and gravy. I have been very good in using up all the veg in the bottom of the fridge and it means that my bin isn't as full as it used to be. :T

Off to watch some more of the Rugby World Cup - which reminds me, why is the Scotland game not being shown on ITV4 on Tuesday? It seems to be nothing but Champions League football on ITV1 and ITV4. Was really looking forward to it but don't know how I will get to see it as I'm not sitting up until after midnight to catch the highlights. Rant over. breathe, breathe, breathe. :o

    Have a super Sunday. xx
