Good morning everyone  I'll just go and get the sticky............

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for xx (add date). This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Had a great evening. Went to a 60th birthday party of a friend (he has 3 sons who are also good friends of mine). There was lots of home cooked food (one of the partners is from the Philipines, and hers was delicious), and a lovely punch that wasn't too alcoholic. Have asked for some recipes already. They'd made a gladiator game (2 contestants stand on a stool, and bash each other with huge cotton buds, all surrounded by plenty of thick matting). Very funny :j

DH has done out early, so thought I'd have a browse on here. We started building our trellis yesterday, and it looks good. Will take some pics of my garden later, and post them on the Greenfingered board.

HM cheese and olive bread and HM leek and potato soup for lunch. DH is pot roasting some brisket for tea, with lots of HG veg, and a HG cherry pie.

Did an inventory of my freezer yesterday. Made a meal plan from that, and have added what I need to buy onto my Tesco order. It'll probably keep us going for a month

Have a great day, Penny. x

    Hope you are well.

My left side of face is black with bruises and very swollen still and seems more painful today than yesterday. Hoping its just the bruising coming out and not an infection. Can smell anything from left nostril but cant blow my nose...annoying. Only woke twice through the night so not too bad.

Have just put a large washload on and that will be ready to be hung out in an hour or so, then washing bin empty:D DW needs emptying but dont have the energy and I quickly swished the toilet:p House generally clean and tidy. OH going to do some jobs that werent done yesterday.

Today we are cooking a lovely roast dinner with all the trimmings, but Im staying and resting all day...but will supervise and delegate:rotfl:

Anyway, I need a cuppa, paper and a biccies.

Hugs to all in need and those that arent. Have a great Sunday.

    Morning. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JCR

I went to a friends 59th yesterday, so suffering a bit from red wine deep voice in the morning syndrome. Manged to spill some of it over my best T shirt too.

Church today, then some wine making this afternoon. I have about 25lbs of plums that a friend gave me, so I will start 3 gallons off later. I am planning on picking some elderberries as well.. So should be a busy afternoon.

No plans for food. I think we will just wing-it. BBQ looks favourable. Although my son wont want burgers after working all day at Mc D's.

Went to Plymouth yesterday and spent a few quid. Did not get much though. Train home was full and we had to stand for an hour. Not good enough. They should know to put a bigger train on for saturday shoppers. Take public transport.......they are having a laugh!!!!!

Another gripe is the cost of food shopping. All dairy and bread gone up in leaps and bounds....

    Well cheers pards

    Morning

    Happy Birthday JCR16!

Mums coming over today to keep me company until DH gets back tonite from his course and ive got leg of lamb for dinner, also got some more green beans from my neighbour, I'll have to freeze some but not sure how? do I have to blanch them first? or can I just put them straight into the freezer?

N9eav I was reading the thread yesterday about the price increases in the daily staples! - milk used to be £1 (4pnts) now is £1.36 (Asda) and a loaf the other day in lidls was £1.10! I usually get 3 for £2 in asda but they have suddenly stopped the promos! I did make a wholemeal loaf in the BM yesterday it was ok but I think i need to start perfecting it now!

Ironing later with my new iron too!

    Enjoy your sunday everyone xx

Happy Birthday JR16 - have a great day. I remember the only thing that kept morning sickness at bay was to eat dry stuff all the time. I used to scoff tuc biscuits like noones business.

Had neice and nephew over last night as we were babysitting, didnt get to sleep till 10 and were wide awake at 6.45. I didnt really need to be up so early today as ds doesnt have football till 10.30 but never mind. Its the first game of the season so fingers x'd we win.

Change of menu plan today again. Have got pork chops, not sure what we are doing with them but as with N9eav we are leaning towards a barbeque especially as the weather looks fantastic today.

Will iron the stuff I washed yesterday so am starting the week off with no ironing - brilliant.

Best be off now - gonna jump in the shower - have a great day.

  •   Mornin' all,

Sunny here, hurrah! Happy birthday to jcr andget well soon to Penpin. DH had something like you ages ago- it was an extremely rare extra tooth which grew right up to his nasal cavity, it was a horrible op and our sympathy goes to you. Have they advised you to do gentle salt water mouth washes?

N9eav- its lovely to hear of someone else on here who goes to church.:T I wonder if you have been to the new skaters church in Polzeath. We were
in Polzeath in August and they were just finishing converting an old Methodist church on the front to a Skater church called The TubeStation.
dlb- I go to Buxton quite often and its a really lovely place, I don't think you have got the short straw at all! Go with a few empty bottles and get some of the Buxton spa water free, very os.:j

Quiet day here I think- church, walk dog, roast dinner and washing ready for tomorrow. DS has been pretty quiet since midweek argy-bargy.
