Ok..but maybe I've got a different offer to you cause in mine it says,
Make a purchase on your Amazon.co.uk MasterCard to receive your £15 Amazon.co.uk Gift Certificate
So I think I'll have to use the card, make a tiny purchase and hopefully all should be well.0 -
It's offered me £15 for an amazon Mastercard - problem is I already have one!0

Only get the credit card (which I don't want to do as it would effect my stoozing, which I make more money from)
Booo! Hiss!!! Amazon0 -
More hassle I know but it also works for the credit card application.
1. Place order from Amazon and get £15 for applying for their credit card.
2. Order placed and despatched
3. Credit card agreement takes about 1-2 weeks to arrive by post. Don't sign it, application cancelled.
No, you can't do that. I applied for it and in the email you get sent, it says:-
In accordance with the terms & conditions of the £15 Credit Promotion, if you do not return the paperwork, activate and make a retail purchase on your Amazon.co.uk MasterCard within 90 days of receipt of this e-mail, the £15 credit will be debited from the default payment card associated with your Amazon.co.uk account or, if unused, removed from your Amazon.co.uk account. Visit http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/cobrandcard/terms-and-conditions.html for the full terms & conditions.
It was easy enough to follow the t&cs though and make a single purchase. Obviously a bit more hassle than the dvd rental offer though, but I thought it was worth it.

I've just done this and got myself a £10 voucher.
I've noticed a second element to this scam. I can nominate a friend to get a free month's trial. If they sign up at the end of that trial, I get a £5 voucher.
Therefore, I could nominate someone (my parents, for instance) and get the 2 free DVD's. I then pay their £3.99 first month's subscription, and get that month's 2 Dvd's and recieve my voucher. I then cancel that person's account, and find that Amazon would be paying me £1.01 to rent 4 DVD's off them.0 -
I only got the offer for £10 off. After that I got the following message from Amazon to my e-mail.Dear XXXXXXXX,
Greetings from Amazon.co.uk DVD Rental by Post.
We have noticed that the invoice address associated with the
credit/debit card you use to pay your DVD Rental by Post subscription does not
appear to be valid, and we are therefore unable to process your
subscription charges. The invoice address is generally the address to which your
bank or credit card provider sends your statements.
Please update your payment details by clicking Your Account at the top
of any page on the Amazon.co.uk website. Scroll down the page and click
the "Manage DVD Rental Account Information" link, then sign in.
On the next page, under Payment Method, click the "Change" button and
re-enter your payment card and invoice address.
If we can't successfully charge your subscription fee to your
credit/debit card by your next payment date, we'll close your DVD Rental by Post
account.
If you have any questions, please contact us via our online form:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/contact-us/dvd-rentals.html
Note: this e-mail was sent from a notification-only e-mail address that
cannot accept incoming e-mail. Please do not reply directly to this
message.
Warmest regards,
Amazon.co.uk DVD Rental by Post
Do you think if I not do anything, can I still keep the £10 discount and not pay for a monthly rent rate? Any advice? Thanks.0 -

Ptyks, I got a similar error, though it denied my debit card for some reason.Dear Mr **,
Greetings from Amazon.co.uk DVD Rental by Post.
There is a problem with the credit/debit card associated with your DVD rental account. Please check and update your credit/debit card details on your Manage DVD Rental Account Information page at http://www.amazon.co.uk/rentalaccount
If we haven't been able to successfully charge your credit/debit card by your next payment date----we'll close your DVD Rental by Post account.
If you would like to know why the charge to your credit/debit card was declined, please contact the bank that issued your card.
I got to the order confirmation page, and signed up for the £10 dvd thing, then had to pause sign-up since I realised I hadn't entered my new uni accomodation into amazon yet. I changed my billing address to my new flat and continued the offer sign up, selecting my new address and my normal card.
Once that was all done, I changed my delivery address, and it asked me to re-enter my debit card info. I did this, and paid, and the order has gone through. But for some reason, the DVD rental thing didn't like my card. This may be because it was set to the one address when I entered the info for the offer, then I changed the address.
As far as I can see, I've for the £10 discount without actually subscribing!
Even better, I used my Student Discount with the NUS to get 5% off, which was £1.96, and when I signed up for the DVD rental, I got a second mysterious promotional discount for £1.96.Subtotal of Items: £39.10
Postage & Packing: £0.00
NUS Discount -£1.96
DVD Rental Signup -£10.00
Promotion Applied -£1.96
Total before VAT: £25.18
VAT: £4.40
Total for this order: £29.580 -
In answer to the earlier post about whether if you get a £10 banner you might get more off......well I did :j
Ordered "Thames" by Peter Ackroyd (£15, rrp £25) as a Christmas present for OH and it's cost me the grand total of £0.01
Have just waited for the book to be dispatched and have cancelled my DVD subscription and requested the £3.99 refund.
What a fab deal, thank you Martin and the original poster:money:0 -
