ordered new card after reading this hoping for a debit card but got another cash card.0

So they're issuing a different debit card for this (only works in LTSB ATMs) than the other 2in1 cards that work in any cash machine?0

I asked about the cash account with debit card. This is there reply:
Thanks for your email about the cash card.
On a cash account you are issued with a Cashpoint card, you can make cash withdrawals from any of the 4,200 Lloyds TSB Cashpoint(r) machines and over 17,000 Post Office branches. This card is known as a Visa 2 in 1 card.
As you can see it's a VISA debit card.0 -

Application for Cash account - Can it be done by post? or we have to go into the branch.
Also anyone what the criteria e.g. what checks they do?
Thanks

I would e-ail the about if the account can be opened by post. Why do you want to apply by post? Branch is better.
Basic bank accounts won't do credit scoring. Therefore, the checks will be referring your details to the CRA to check your identity (i.e. electora role), history of fraud, and bankruptcy. If you have the latter two or both, your application will be declined.0 -

i have a cah account with the tsb and on monday i went to see them about an upgrade to a classic account as i wanted a debit card. this they could not do due to credit checks but the guy in the branch told me all cash accounts are being upgraded to a 2 in 1 card and they will come through automatically. he didn't know when exactly, but said probably by the end of the year0

I called the telephone banking line today and the woman on the phone knew absolutely nothing about it at all. She even went on to say that she thought it was all a mistake and that the cash account would always be a cashcard only, and they only offer a Visa card to those who have a sufficient credit score. I gave up.
CC limits £26000
Long term CC debt £0
Total low rate loan debt £3000
Almost debt free feeling, priceless.
Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.0 -
I popped into a branch and was told the debit card is only issued upon expiry of the existing cashcard. Mine's expiring in 2010.
When I asked what happened when one 'lost' a card, I got a wry smile and 'I couldn't possibly comment.'0
