Having read this post and looked at the earlier threads from the OP on ESA I am still very inclined that some kind of ongoing support/help would be very beneficial.

Again I'd ask OP if you have made contact with CAB. You say that there is only one session per week in your town. Have you been/are you going to go? Because establishing communication with them would help over the long term

    Totally agree with this.

Not just the ESa appeal, but they may be able to help the OP with a PIP application.

Why do people compare one person to another ? Just because their Aunt Fanny has a wooden leg and walks 10 mile to work 12 hours down a pit , has no relevance. Every person is different.
Why not come out with what you are thinking? "Get your lazy !!!! off the chair and get a job ! " Well why don,t you tell the Government to get the big companies, that avoid paying tax, to pay ? Instead of allowing their mates to claim hundreds of thousands of pounds in expenses ?
No they just vote to cut benefits.

I'm not sure what tax avoidance has to do with your reluctance to work. Unless you're saying you are justified because others play the system?

I do hope you give Fit for Work a try. It's sad to see someone write themselves off for no good reason.

When you have been married three times, then realise after 40 years that you have suffered long periods of undiagnosed depression. Also suffered breakdowns again undiagnosed and unsupported you would also have little reason to look on the bright side !

Should I really be forced into work that will increase my suffering ?. Depression is also a major problem for me .

You'll still have these symptoms at home and working may well prove therapeutic for your depressive issues.

Another point I would make is the the Job centres are now insisting that claimants attend once every week ,changed from every two weeks. So for me , its a 1/2 mile walk to train station plus two lots of steps to buy ticket . Then another two lots of stairs at the next station , another 3/4 mile walk to the JC . So I have to walk a total of 2 1/2 miles and pay £6 train fare ! When you get there , no toilets are available to claimants. How can this be right ?

No there is not a reliable bus service .

People say phone around for help and advice , but there is a cost to all this . When you are on benefits even a extra £6 lost on phone call has a massive impact . I tried calling DWP 3 times last week ,finally got through to a call centre ,no direct access to anyone that can give you answers . 1 1/2 HR I was on the phone, before I got anyone 12P per minute does not sound a lot. but work it out ! There use to be phones available in Job centres , for claimant to use for enquiries. When I asked in Job Centre where the toilets were , I was directed to the supermarket 150 yards away . How can that be right ?
