  • Ahh Bossy having a dog is lovely but there are downsides. His bed is put back together, and now he is on the sofa with me snoring.

I sort of hoped DS2 would feel a bit ill this morning but he bounced out of bed at 10am looking as fresh as a daisy and wolfed down an enormous bacon and sausage butty. I decided not to say anything about last night but have made a mental note in case he says anything about going round to that lads house again.

A really productive day here, some paid stuff, bit of dusting and hoovering, helped DH take a load of stuff to the tip. Chilling with a G&T now.

    Hugs Gilly x

Wonder if those parents are aware of the penalty for supplying alcohol to minors? Think it's up to £5K

Isn't it okay if it's in your own home or something?
Not that I'm saying he's in the right, giving alcohol to your own kid is one thing (I used to have a bottle or two at xmas and special occasions) but I can't believe he would just hand it out to other kids without checking it's okay with their parents first!

  • Morning lovelies :)

Up with the lark after a lovely evening - family round for dinner, Strictly enjoyed, fire lit and cava consumed - bliss. DD was allowed to stay up late to watch it bless her :)

Hoping for a mega productive day. Top of the list is sourcing some second hand clobber for DD who is growing so fast, so ebay here I come. Also hoping for a large ebay sale later - DHs old beloved car is listed and has interest, fingers crossed!

WM is on, DW unloaded and reloaded, kitchen S&S. Small people are eating cereal, I'll make bacon and sausage butties shortly. DH off first thing tomorrow to bonny Scotland for the week with work, so he can fire through his list of jobs today as well!

    Have peaceful Sundays all xx

Morning all. Up since silly o'clock as Poppet heard DH getting ready for the paid stuff.

So far today I have done 15 minutes on the rebounder, WUDUPA after breakfast, watered the indoor plants, washed the dog bed AGAIN, changed our bedding and made jam with the blackberries I picked yesterday. Had forgotten how painful blackberry picking can be!

Re the young ones going to friend's houses, I think you just give up control for a couple of hours unfortunately. I've found out from mine that when they went to friends houses they were allowed to view 18 films and play 18 games. Shocking what some people will do.

It's raining here today, so I shall just potter around the house in between seeing to the dogs. LittleyDog hasn't even ventured out for a wee yet, Poppet quite happy to just do it in the house.

    Have a great day everyone.

Wet start here too, I have spent an hour sorting out bits of paper which has made me feel grumpy, its not what I want to be doing on a Sunday morning! Need to look at the online banking too.

I have bought some nice new storage boxes for the top shelf of our built in office cupboard. This is where everything gets shoved when no-one knows where else to put it. I really really dont want to tackle this and now the storage boxes are annoying me because they are in the way! Maybe I just need to set some time aside this week to do it.

Oh and re: friends houses. The worst of it is that its often nice kids from nice families who are really lenient with their kids - and yours. I wouldnt give 15 year olds alcohol partly because I would then be responsible. What if one of them was really ill or walked under a bus on the way home? On the other hand it's something your kids have to learn to deal with as they grow up, peer pressure on a whole new level.

Think the sun might be coming out, might sort the ironing then get the bike out for a bit.

    Have a nice Sunday x

The sun is out now but I think I'll still carry on with jobs indoors today. Since my last post I have S&S'd the toilets and sinks and taken LittleyDog for a walk, also put the recycling out and refilled the bird feeders. Just having a cuppa and will then carry on.

    Morning all.

We were up at 6am as DD still has homework to do. I am full of cold and would rather have stayed in bed but that wasn't an option as DD would have gotten distracted and not done any work. She's now gone out with Ex to see a film in manchester as its the closest showing that film during the day. I need to go out to the pet shop for a small bag of dog food (I miscalculated how many bags he had left) so I'm going to pop to a couple of other shops while I'm there to save me going to my usual shops as the weather forecast for tomorrow is heavy rain and I'm working all week.

DD has asked for a roast dinner so I might throw in some baking as well, it just depends what time I get back from the shops and whether I have the energy. I need to go to Mr A or Mr Al on the way back as well because with DD being home Thur afternoon, Friday and all day yesterday she's managed to eat most of the sandwich contents and drank most of the milk I'd bought. :( Then again I may just go to that "really cold" shop and get a delivery since I have a bonus card ;)

Off to see whats lurking in the freezer etc and write my list while my phone updates/charges

Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!

Jazee I'm curious (well alright, I'm actually a nosey wotnot) how has LittleyDog taken to Poppet? :o

Bossy I wouldn't dream of talking you out of getting a dog - they can be the best companions you're ever likely to have! You do need to think it through though - are they going to be left for more than three hours at a stretch? Are you thinking puppy or rescue dog? Any particular breed; or crossbreed; or what? Are the Little Moos animal lovers? All that sort of stuff.

Talking of dogs, I have one of my already-booked-when-the-franchise-closed dog-sitting bookings coming up; Harvey and Charlie will be arriving on Tuesday for an eleven-day stay. :j

My new gardening kneeler has arrived; it's one of those reversible ones that doubles as a seat, for things like potting up. It replaces the old one, which is broken. Mr LW has just gone to take the old one, plus some other carp - dead light bulbs amongst it - to the tip.

We also need to visit @ldi later on; we're nearly out of milk. Again. I think we must have a Humphrey in here. (Anyone remember the ads for milk, years ago? - "Watch out, watch out, there's a Humphrey about" and all you saw was a really long straw going into the glass of milk, and then the level of milk in the glass going down. :D )
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Me again. Hope your cold clears up soon Nicki.

I have sorted online banking, insurance for Poppet and worked out that we can manage (just) on one salary if we need to. DH is seriously stressed at the moment and probably the time has come to say goodbye to his current employment.

Anyhow, taking a leaf out of YSL's book, I'm going to go for a bike ride before lunch.

  • Morning all,

Nicki I'm full of cold too, don't do too much. After feeling ropey all week I decided not to do anything at all yesterday. Today I'm limiting myself to gently fluttering. And thanks you've reminded me I also need dog food!

YL sweet of your DS1 to help DS2. I'm dreading my two getting to that age. x
