    Morning!

It's not like us to be first up!

Kids have "beds" on sofas after announcing that school is hard work and they are tired (err, stay in bed beyond 7am, then???). They are watching last nights strictly and neither has danced yet so they must be goosed.

Plan today is to do a few hhc whilst DD is at ballet, inlaws are visiting later as they are back from holidays (phew, we could have used their help last week!) and we might go to the mini railway.

Tomorrow is a complete rest day, for all of us!

Have a lovely weekend folks (and a hug for Valli xxx)

  • Valli - yuk, what a time of night to start cleaning that up.

DS2 landed home slightly tipsy. I am not overly keen on this lad he had been out with, he is not really one of DSs friends and I would rather it stayed that way. A group of them went back to this lads house and his parents were freely handing out the alcohol to the 15 year olds. Glad DS had the sense to text me at 10pm to come home.

When we got home DS1 felt the need to look after his brother and there was lots of crashing about upstairs while DS tried to help him out of his skinny jeans. I had to remain slightly disapproving and not laugh.

I am on with the paid stuff. Aiming to get at least 6 hours in this weekend. Not sure whether to crack on today and have tomorrow off or split it over both days.

Best get on! Have a good Saturday everyone x

Ooh and on the flying front have chucked all the dog bedding in the washing. Doggie is sitting in his empty basket in my office. Why doesnt he go on the sofa?

Giggling at the mental picture of last night in YL's house.
Wonder if those parents are aware of the penalty for supplying alcohol to minors? Think it's up to £5K

Flying south later, visiting my sister.

Morning all. Hugs where needed. I too am laughing at the skinny jeans story.

Nothing planned here this weekend, although DD says she may bring a friend over to meet Poppet. So I shall try to do some gardening, maybe some reading of papers (I have a week's new to catch up on) and making some apricot microwave jam.

    Have a great day all.

In my usual way I have been reading and not posting as the BD has been snapping at my heels, I am sorry I am not as active here as I would like to be, but please be assured my thoughts are with each and everyone of you.

I am going to have a fly in a day through the house and garden, but where to start first:eek:

We were away for last weekend in Sheringham for their 40s weekend and I have not been able to get my butt in gear to do housework, although washing is mostly up to date and the kitchen is fit for anything or anyone to call.

Tonight we are at a surprise birthday party, so do need to nip out to get a present and card, but what to get for a 60 year old man, thinking hip flask for when he is fishing or playing golf.

We are staying over in our motor home so can both have a tipple, advantage of a friend with a pub as their home.

Tomorrow no doubt Hubbie will be hanging but hoping to get the garage decluttered.

    Best wishes to all.

He may be expressing his disapproval.:D Penny-dog hated it when I washed her bedding - she'd get into the clean bed, and look at me all old-fashioned, like she was saying "I just got that smelling nice and doggy, and you have to go and wash it! Huh! Humans!" :rotfl:

Just switched on the steam cleaner to hot up, with a view to steam-cleaning the bath lift. :o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Two dog walks done, dog bed washed again, grass cut back and front, one newspaper read and I've picked some blackberries, oh and taken DH to the paid stuff which he is considering quitting.

Next will be bathing the dogs (Poppet's first) but she's asleep on my lap at the moment so I'll just have to remain here for now.

  • Hi there,

Sorry I haven't caught up with the thread yet!!

First week in and have ended up with many hospital visits to a family member. His wife doesn't drive and it is 2 buses and a fairly long walk to get there, so we have all been taking it in turns.

I have however continued to fly!

Will catch up after visiting tonight

    See you soon x

Hugs gilly and lots of sticks for your bd xxx

Made me chuckle too, YL, I've got all that to come

Doggies do like their own doggie smell. It's a long time since I had a pooch, but my last one commandeered my bean bag. I was less than impressed but he did love it, and had it some weeks before it began to whiff. I removed the cover, washed and dried and replaced. Later that day, I left him in the kitchen, I swear I only went out for 20 min. When I came home, it was like a snow storm! He had ragged it about in a temper, tearing the cover, plus the inner mesh. Polystyrene beads covered the floor about an inch deep. He had beads caught in his fluffy neck fur, in his ears and also round his bottom

Of course every time I tried to sweep some up, he would sniff at it and the stuff would fly everywhere. Even ended up picking the little blobs out of doggie nostrils :rotfl:

He was relegated back to blankets after that incident...
    Lol

<would so love another doggie, someone talk me out of it>
