Complaint to POPLA about Wright Hassall

  • First thing I did was go in to complain but they said it was nothing to do with them. Didn't get it in writing though and I wasn't aware of it when I submitted my appeal.

I didn't leave as I was a few months into a twelve month contract and a month's membership was cheaper than using the park and ride. That's how the gym advertised it to my works' £30 a month parking with use of the gym as a bonus.
  • Even if you have already asked the gym to get this charge cancelled, complain again.

Politely point out that as a person with protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010, you shall hold them jointly and severally liable for any breach of this Act by their agent Millennium Door & Event Security Ltd.

I'll try that and write to the head office rather than the gym itself (part of a chain). They didn't make me aware of the parking T&Cs in their advertisement or when I signed up, just merely saying the parking permit was in my welcome pack. Would that also be reasonable grounds for a complaint?

While I was born with autism I wasn't diagnosed until after I signed up to the gym and got the parking ticket. Should I apply it retrospectively or just go with a non-disabled complaint?
  • I have just recieved a farce of a decision (rejection) from WH, Replied telling them they are incompitent and will see PE in court, if they have the balls

They will reject it, that's how they TRY to make money.

Anything to do with Wright Hassall is now in question so please just hang fire for a couple of days. We await a true statement from the BPA

Bit of a longshot but would I be able to fight this by "exiting" my contract with Millennium via the Misrepresentation Act 1967?

As the BPA likes to argue, these aren't penalties or fines, they are invoices. By entering the car park they've argued I've entered a contract and accepted the T&Cs. As part of their T&Cs I'm entitled to appeal a decision via POPLA. POPLA claim to use an independent assessor. Wright Hassall is not independent.

Therefore Millennium has by extension misrepresented the ability to appeal a decision and I can cancel the contract.

Someone is really using the trading name Wright Hassall? Lol
  • Also just had a rejection of my appeal via WH. I responded to their initial request in April !! So 5 months to get to this. Will keep watching the board and see what our friends at UKPC now issue. Will also hang fire and see what occurs over the coming weeks.
  • Rejection letter also with a complete farce of a response. didn't even address the full appeal points just stuck the same paragraphs they probably sent to everyone else.

Is there due to be a statement released regarding WH? refuse to pay but will struggle with time to go to court

We all know that the Wright Hassall decisions have been bordering on plain stupidity
  • I have fired off a complaint to POPLA about the inadequacies of Wright Hassell and the falsehoods contained within their rejection letter. Strangely enough I've not had any reply, as yet...
  • you wont do , its like writing to ford about a problem with your Vauxhall!

the BPA hires companies to do popla appeals , in your case it ewas London counsils , but was delayed due to the Bevis situation , during this time London counsils quit and the ombudsman service got the contract.

HOWEVER: they did not want the 3500 half finished appeals , so the BPA hired a company of debt collectors called wright hastle to quickly dismiss the cases
