So I have sent off my shirty email to the pension administrator. Have told them that as the statement is useless for my purpose I want a corrected statement to be emailed to me by close of play today or I will escalate a formal complaint!

DSis called me this morning to let me know that her and OH can't make tonight's drinks. Also the other relatives aren't going! Beginning to feel that I will be there like Billy No-Mates as apart from my cousin and her OH, I won't know anyone there now! However, I've got to go as I feel guilty that (a) I didn't go to my cousin's 50th; and (b) I'm round the corner from the venue anyway!

    Have a good day everyone!

  • I'd love to have heard you on the phone giving a richly deserved telling off to the rude 'kid' :rotfl:. I wouldn't want them handling my pension  (if I had one).

You will really enjoy the show I'm sure SSG and have lovely memories afterwards.

Have a great evening SSG and honestly glad you've gone into writing to the pension fund...flipping appalling administration and service.

Thank you everyone for all your lovely comments!

I had a great time in the end at the retirement bash and my DCuz and her OH were really pleased to see me. He had hired a private room at the wine bar and had laid on a lovely buffet and loads of drink so it turned into a free night. Met quite a few of his ex-work colleagues and three of DCuz!!!8217;s best friends who were great company and we had a good laugh. When I was leaving DCuz asked me if I wanted a slice of the rather delish looking retirement cake she had bought him. I said yes please (thought bubble: I!!!8217;m trying to cut down sweets wise but a slice will be nice with coffee.....) then she reappeared with what felt like a brick wrapped in foil. I said I don!!!8217;t need all that but she insisted I take it! When I got home I actually weighed it - 850 grams! I had a bit today - the rest is sitting out in the kitchen like a time bomb........:D

So yesterday wasn!!!8217;t as expensive as I first thought - just a fiver for my taxi home from Station because it was late.

And, oh what a surprise - the pension people didn!!!8217;t reply to my email apart from the generic !!!8220;thank you for your email, we!!!8217;ll aim to reply within ten years etc etc!!!8221;. So I!!!8217;ll be shooting over my complaint on Monday.

Today I received the last pension provider!!!8217;s statement and also the numerous forms from my works provider with the bumph to transfer the first one! I think it!!!8217;s going to be a long job somehow!

    Have a good evening everyone.

I think that’s the way forward redo. It’s sponge with buttercream and soft icing. Should be ok?

  • I think cake freezing is the way forward here to avoid temptation :rotfl:. Glad you enjoyed the retirement do after all, it's always worth making yourself go to things.

How annoying those pensions people are, I do dislike those automated emails .
