Spendy couple of days. It was DDOH's birthday so I sent him an Amazon e-voucher - but this was thankfully budgeted for!

Then DSis called – a few weeks ago she said she was arranging another of her periodic"works limo dos" – which is where she, a few of her workmates and me (as honorary member) hire a limo to see a show in London and then dinner afterwards. We all decided on "The King and I" which is starting a limited run later on this summer. She has now booked the tickets – apparently all the good stalls seats are going like hot cakes, she couldn't get us all sitting together and the ticket price was £152 each! So I've put the money into her account, but it's left me short on the Entertainments budget. Luckily though this month I've saved an extra £90 because it's one of my two free months before I start paying my Council Tax again so the cash has gone towards the ticket!

Nothing else spent this week apart from my (budgeted) nails. Tomorrow night though I have my cousin's OH's retirement drinks. These are being held in the City and DSis, her OH and some other cousins are going along as well – we all like a drink so don't know how much I'll be spending here!
Also received £15 in M&S loyalty vouchers through the post yesterday so will put this towards some new underwear.

Still looking at side tables – haven't decided yet what I'm going to get. Another thing is that my fridge/freezer is playing up – it's sixteen years old so I think it is on its way out. I was going to get another one when I have my kitchen renovated, but I'm going to replace the fridge/freezer now. I have £145 left in John Lewis vouchers so I'm going to put these towards it – just have to pick a not too expensive model!

Still haven't received the other two pension transfer statements from the providers yet – will give it till Saturday then chase them up.

I forgot to mention that I gained 1lb when I weighed in on Monday. Trying to be good this week - hope tomorrow night doesn't cancel anything out!:D

So following on from my earlier post - positive: boss let me leave work early; negative: got caught in windy, icy rain downpour on way home from Station and got soaked!:(

And - when I got home the administrator of my pension AVC had sent through the transfer papers and although the details of the AVC was correct, they had addressed the documents to a completely different person! Honestly they are useless! Last year they sent me somebody else’s transfer docs. So tomorrow they are going to get a blistering email from me. Makes you wonder who has got some of my details!

  • I'm very envious of your social life SSG.

 to the pension provider. Maybe it's just as well that you're moving your pension away from them,

    Boo to pension administrators!

That's bad re the pension. Pensions are a minefield, they use all this jargon, which no one understands, and you never know where you are with them. Hope you get an apology.

£152 for a theatre ticket  Hope you really enjoy it!

Hi SSG - I only get 1 free rates/council tax month this year as our Assembly hasn’t come back. I know we got 3 last year but I like the 2 free months.

Also envious of your social life :). I used to live in London & loved going to see the shows .. unfortunately Belfast opera house rarely has a musical/show I want to see.
  • Thanks all!

The ticket price is horrendous - but this is the West End par now for the best seats for a sell out show. The theatres are always complaining that they have dwindling audiences and that may be true for some plays, but popular musicals hold their prices. When I saw Dreamgirls last week it was a sell out and also the same when I went at the end of the last year. A colleague in work has just paid £200 per ticket to see “Hamilton” later in the year - and she hasn’t even heard the music yet - I wouldn’t do that! I’d have to like the music or I wouldn’t bother to go. Of course London is awash with more tourists than ever with the drop in sterling and they are buying up the tickets as well. Tbh, I must admit I wouldn’t want to pay out for a seat stuck at the back or up in the Gods. I like to be able to have a good look at the performers - it’s all part of the experience. If you can’t see them properly I’d just as well watch a DVD of the show at home!

Still - at least I’ve a few months till the show in which to save up for the meal afterwards!:D

Re pension. This particular pensions administrator is a nightmare. When I complained on the phone last year the ‘kid’ who answered the phone actually laughed when I told him that they had sent me somebody’s details (which included NI number and date of birth). He wasn’t laughing when I had finished with him. I really wish I had complained in writing at the time but all this is going to be included now in tomorrow’s email......
