Good luck with the weight loss. I need to lose 12 pounds and my goal is to do it by the end of March. I definitely think walking and yoga/pilates are good for our advanced (ahem) age group, as they're effective but have very little risk of injury.
I hope work isn't too painful tomorrow. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Happy New Yeas SSG! I love your positive take on the world and wish you all the best for 2018. I'm always on my phone rather than a pc/ laptop so don't post much as I'm a one fingered typist and it's difficult and fiddly. Happy New Year .
I haven’t weighed myself , but know I have put some weight on from my jeans. It’s back to exercise on Monday and the healthy eating.
Have you any trips planned for this year ? I was reading about Zagreb in December today on the train home . I am keeping the article I fancy the idea of visiting .This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com1 -

Hi Verbatim:hello: Happy New Year to you too! I’m a bit like you when it comes to typing. I’m an old fashioned typist and like a nice big keyboard!:D. I don’t think I’d ever post if I had to do it from my phone - the tiny keyboard would drive me mad! I’m bad enough on the iPad - I’m one fingered here too!Cumbria_lass wrote: »Happy New Year .

All the best for 2018 Cumbria. It’s a shame the New Year doesn’t start in the summer. I’d be much more inclined to jump into diet and excercise then rather than this dark, cold weather.
I haven’t been to Zagreb - it’s in Croatia isn’t it? I think all the old Eastern European cities have a lot going or them - and they always seem a lot cheaper than France, Italy etc. Lots of history as well.
NSD yesterday and today!
Back to work today – office still felt a bit empty as not everyone has returned from the Christmas/New Year break. Had quite a bit to keep me busy though so at least the day didn't drag.
PART DEUX OF SCRIMPY NEW YEAR GOALS WHICH IS:
A Beautiful Me! (Or as near as I can get to it!) aka Not Killing the Beauty Budget!
Had a quick look through my beauty/make up cupboards/drawers. Nothing to throw away really as I went through them all on my cleaning splurge last month and even tnen it wasn’t too bad. At the time a couple of lipsticks went as I'd had them for a while and wasn’t using them. Whereas up to a few years ago I would have tons of make-up I've got it pared down now – I've gone back to Clinique foundation, but was thinking of trying the L'Oreal Age Defying once I have used up my stores – all in the cause of dropping a brand. I do find myself going back to the Clinique time and again though.
Likewise mascara wise I'm back with Benefit They're Real – as I like the brush and the effect. Eye shadow – its the Mac cream pots - it really stays on. I use a cheaper Max Factor powder shadow to define in my eye socket. Blush – again I'm using Max Factor and was thinking of trying their old staple Crème Puff face powder as I'm due to stock up here ( I AM turning into my mother - she always used Max Factor!:D)
Lipsticks - I tend to go for colour and texture and this can really vary – I've bought some good cheaper lipsticks via Marks & Spencer Autograph brand. I tend to have more lipsticks than anything else as I find as I've got older my lips need defining more than my eyes! But I do have only a quarter of the number of lipsticks I used to have!
Hair - If you regularly read my diary you'll know all about my hair problems so I've tended to splurge out here looking for solutions! Hopefully the Viviscal will work eventually! I’ve taken inod’s advice and selfied the top of my head to see if it works down the line!
Bodywise I tend to use whatever shower gel for sensitive skin is on offer in Boots. I've got plenty of body creams etc at the moment – some are really nice that I've received as presents so I won't be buying any of these for some time.
I try and buy most of my beauty aids in Boots as the Advantage points system is so good, but I make sure I stock up on my staples there when they are on offer. Also I get a House of Fraser voucher (usually £80) as my birthday present from work so I can then buy the more expensive make-up brands like my Mac pots.
I'm still going to have my regular nails and pedicure appointments and will continue with these as long as I can afford it!
All in all not too bad – I have my YNAB budgets for Make UP/Toiletries and also Vitamins so at least I know what I'm spending now from month to month.
Oh - and I’m uping the water intake as well - that’s free!
Have a good evening everyone!Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟
