Paid off the £31,000! BUT - still scrimping!

Another week gone and holiday weekend nearly over. Autumn is coming…………..
END OF SCRIMPY MONTH 8 – AUGUST AND BEGINNING OF SCRIMPY MONTH 9 – SEPTEMBER
I got paid last Tuesday. After updating the YNAB pots I put some extra over to the workplace pension. Looking at the monthly investment categories, my flat increased in value, whilst the workplace pension, gold and shares were down.
Usual budgeted spends over the last week were Waitrose (veg and household), pedicure, nails, food bank, coffees with my friend, lottery, downloads from Itunes for music and film, birthday money for DSis's OH's nephew (£20) and birthday cards. It was DD's birthday last week, but I still have to sort out what I'm getting her as a present – we usually take one another away for the weekend for our birthdays but the pandemic has put paid to that this year. I also bought some new Vax microfiber pads for my floor steamer from Amazon.
Annual budgeted spends that have popped up were my yearly YNAB subscription (£34.46 after the US$ conversion) and new glasses. I normally go to an optician in the City, but decided to change and use a local optician. I was going to change next year after I had retired but as I'm WFH it seemed sensible to use the local optician now. It was quite handy as he's only a ten minute walk away.
DIET
Going well. I lost another 5lb on Saturday. So that's 1 stone and 2lb in a fortnight and I'm very happy with that. My only cheats have been that I've upped the veg count a bit, e.g. I may have some extra broccoli with one of the designated veg meals or chop some peppers up as a snack with a little balsamic vinegar.
I sorted out my coats and dresses last weekend. I've re-classified them in size order now as there's five different sizes! I wasn't as ruthless as I thought I would be as they are basically clothes that don't date, so I will hang on to them and hopefully as I decrease in size I can take the oversized bits to the dress agency. There were only two things to go there from last week's cull – a pair of trousers and a M&S cape edged with faux fur – I only wore it a couple of times and I'm not that keen so both items are ready to go once the dress agency starts taking in winter stock.
When I cleared the skincare drawer out I've got loads of stuff I haven't used yet so I'm going to cancel the monthly Beauty Box for now and revisit this later.
There is also stuff under the bed in a large vacuum packed bag so I might have a go at this later on!

Long time lurker here - congratulations on fabulous weight loss. I'm going to start Fast 800 next Monday - too much going on to start this week but intend to do 12 weeks and review. Hope you find lots of lovely 'new' clothes as your weight and shape change. You sound very organised around decluttering and retirement too! I am no5 working at the moment, not quite ready to say retired yet but after a good start on decluttering lockdown rather derailed he process for me so need to get going again especially as it is September, always feels like a new start time.5

Hi SeasideGal
I did the Fast 800 diet in May/Jun before it was on telly and I lost a stone, I didn't follow the Keto bit just the calories as I'm vegan so giving up carbs completely is almost impossible. I was at the high end of my BMI when I started, I was in the healthy weight category but when I put on weight I feel ill and I get a lot of stomach aches. I did the diet for 8 weeks and then stopped I have put 4 lbs back on so I am back on it again now its great!

Thank you @milann @Sun_Addict @maggiem and @natlie😀There certainly seems quite a lot of folk on the Fast800 at the moment! It's heartening to hear of those who have found it works so well. Gives me the impetus to keep going.I didn't get around to the vacuum bag under the bed after all but will hit this at the weekend!Rather annoyingly my TV appears to be giving up the ghost. It's getting on a bit now so I think I'll treat myself to a new model. I've been looking at them online but it's overwhelming trying to pick one. Half of what they can do now is goobledegook to me so I'm going to have to rope in DSis's OH as techie expert for some advice.Today most of my DDs paid out so I've updated the YNAB categories.Back to work today too - plenty to do but system problems for everyone so various beginning of the month jobs that I've been unable to do today. One bright note - I've heard that a Netflix have filmed a remake of my favourite novel, Rebecca!😀. I hope they don't spoil it! Still Kristen Scott Thomas is playing the creepy Mrs Danvers - I can see those hollow cheekbones now! Should be out next month! Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟
