My friends son is an actor in West End shows and has been out of work since lockdown. You just don’t realise how far reaching this situation is.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

Yes I pay into a works pension SSG - I should get a full state pension as I received a carers allowance for many years. I think my biggest mistake was moving from state schools for about 10 years before returning to the state system. I really need to look into it.
I’d been gifted tickets to Micky Bubble in July and that’s been put back to next July. I’ll have to grovel for time off work as we won’t have broken up - the disadvantage of working in a school - I’d have been ok if it had been this year. Its in Bath so will need a full weekend away with a friend I’ve had since I was 5. I was looking forward to it - I’ve never been to Bath so sightseeing, shopping, a spa afternoon and a few cheeky drinks were on the cards. We had tickets for the Halle playing Elton John and tickets for Phantom, both of which have been cancelled we also had a meal booked at Tom Kerridge’s new restaurant- hopefully we’ll be able to rebook that as I’ve bought vouchers for it. It feels bad moaning about the loss of outings when so many have lost so much more....need to keep things in perspective....i do wonder if things will ever be normal again...January spends - £587.584 -
😎😎. coming slowly out of hiding. Good morning seasidegal58 and lovely friends....i have just finished reading all your diary ! I have absolutely loved following yr news, thoughts and life thus far, so subscribed. it’s been a highlight in these wet and dank, meh days in last couple of weeks.
Would love to join in. I am exactly two years behind you - retiring April 23, well, 1 year and 364 days, as my birthday is one day before you! So I am on a 34 month count down, and can’t wait. However, whilst it’s 34 months in real time, I recently discovered its 35 months in actuality as state pension, at least, pays out one month in arrears 😂😂.
Last weekend went to town and bought super lovely colourful file and this is going to be my ‘fun planning for retirement’ file. going to keep all ideas, planning budgets, hints and tips I discover in here. Like you trying to save more in my pension, although started that very late in life. Long story. subscribed and looking forward to joining in, if you will have me here.7 -
PS. forgot to say, I love the way you write6
