Thanks MO4K – weather perked up a bit at lunchtime and the sun came out – but it's back to cloudy and windy now – at least it's not raining!Hi – moving_forward – it's all a bit of a muchness really I suppose with the refund. I want to fund as much as I can into the pension for the next few months till retirement so the refund is a bit of a bonus, though I'm still paying it back in monthly instalments to my firm (till September I think) as I took out an interest free loan to fund the season ticket. Amex said it would take up to 10 working days to hit my bank account. The boiler costs will come from the EF as it is well funded – I can then put the money back into it - perhaps in monthly instalments if the cost of a replacement boiler turns out exorbitant.
Well my plumber came today – he had a good look at the boiler and the consensus is to replace as it is very old – it was there when I moved in nearly twenty years ago – and was probably fitted when the flats were built! He is going to get back to me with a price. The leak is quite small but will only get worse if left.Apart from that I haven't been out at all – just working. My slippers arrived and are comfortable, warm and much smarter. Masks aren't arriving till Saturday at the earliest.Quite pleased that my herb pots on the kitchen windowsill are coming on well. I'm not that green-fingered, but a couple of weeks ago I bought a few of the little herb pots in Waitrose that are sold in the veg aisle. I have basil, coriander, flat parsley and chili pots and all are thriving. Feel quite chuffed when I chop up my home-grown herbs!I've also been notified about my 'Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat' tickets that I bought for DSis's Christmas present. We were due to see it next month but obviously it's been cancelled. I was offered seats for next year or a refund. I spoke to DSis to see what she wanted to do and she said get the refund as she's not sure how she will be placed for holidays next year and we can always rebook in the New Year. So I've put the refund through.Looking at the wall calendar for June, it's very bare. All I have on there are friends' birthdays/anniversary and my nail appointments that I write on at the beginning of the year as I my slot is the same time every fortnight! Very odd to look at it as there's usually quite a bit more on it!Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

I know its crazy how empty the weeks are now none of us have a social life! Cheaper though!!
Just catching up, been a bonkers few weeks at work but finally catching my breath as of about 2 hours ago..so thought I'd pop on here
You're sounding like you're doing well, and glad you're enjoying working at home. I really think that most of my beetling around the country days are pretty much over, think I will be out and about 1-2 days week max even if they found a universal vaccine this evening and they lifted the restrictions tomorrow
Enjoy your evening4 -
I hope you get to work from home. It must save you a fortune in travelling. 11 months will fly by and you’ll have finished before you know it....I’m down to 5 years away now. I really can’t wait - I feel as if I’m wishing my life away🙄
I suppose if a boiler needs replacing it’s better for it to happen over the summer rather than in the depth of winter. I hope it’s not too expensive but will probably be much more efficient.
Hooray for comfy slippers and cutting fresh herbs. Your bamboo bedding sounds very interesting- I’ve never heard of that.January spends - £587.584 -
Good to save time & money on travel to work.

I’m also saving money by not physically going to work, no browsing round the shops in town during my lunch break or on my way home. Missing seeing my friends for drinks/lunch though plus my occasional shopping trips just to get a breather from Mr SA. Oh and my holidays - basically everything that kept me sane.Good that you have the funds for a new boiler. I had a new one 3 years ago and it’s so much better.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Bad news that you need a new boiler but good news on having the money in your EF. Also good news on the refund for tickets coming in.
Hopefully you can carry on working from home until you retire. And fab news on the herbs. I love growing things but don’t have a kitchen windowsill to put herbs on.3 -
Thank you for your posts everyone!😀
I feel like I'm wishing my life away as well milann. Mind you this year has hardly been the norm this year so far and I'll be glad when it's over without even bringing retirement into the equation!☹️Could you start your herbs off from pots in the garden MO4K? I used some of my coriander and chilis this evening in my potato and chickpea dahl.!😋Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

You're going to get a lot of pleasure out of the caravan MO4K! It was an excellent idea to buy it!
Not much to report today although I'm so pleased it's Friday and no work for two days! The plumber messaged me – with the work included, the boiler bill comes to £555. It's being delivered to him sometime on Monday so he can fit it on Tuesday. Which will be good news as I can then put everything back into the cupboard when it's done. At the moment I've got stuff everywhere!Other main highlight of the day was that my kitchen sink tidy arrived! I completely forgot I ordered this a couple of weeks ago from Amazon.Tomorrow morning is housework and Waitrose afterwards. Hopefully a walk with my friend as well.......although I was thinking of flying off to Monaco tonight to hobnob with the jet set, but thought better of it – I'm getting burnt out with all this socialising and partying.I think I'll settle down and watch episode one of the Hillary Clinton documentary tonight on Sky instead. Also there's a new series starting on Netflix called 'The Woods' adapted from one of Harlan Coben's mysteries – Polish subtitles. Should be good
Have a good evening all.
