Glad you had a good night out. I've got a nut roast for Christmas, I usually make my own but this year it's in a box, you just add water to the mix and cook it in the container provided. I just wanted something easy to make, although it doesn't look very big I'm sure I'll get a couple of meals from it.
Your run up to Christmas days sound busy but fun. Enjoy xxI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

Yesterday morning I bought some supplies for the food bank from the Co-op and dropped them into the church that collects for them – £15.64 – and I remembered to put some chocolate selection boxes in there as well. I also picked up the Christmas wreath for my Mum and Dad's grave from the local florist which I had already paid for.
When I got back I cooked my vegan roast – to be honest I was very disappointed with it and didn't find it very tasty and a bit weird – and I'm not a particularly fussy eater. I think the vegan food industry has still quite a way to go when replicating meat and fish in the actual form of joints and steaks. In something like a curry or chili you still can get the texture in the form of mince or small lumps of soya/other plant based substitutes because the sauces have all the taste so I always find these quite nice. I still have some faux sausages, foie gras and salmon pate to try so hopefully these will be better. However, I did eat some of the vegan cheese that was in the hamper and this wasn't so bad compared with other plant-based 'cheeses' I have tried. It's a shame about the roast, as I don't think the hamper was particularly cheap!:(
In the evening my friend and I went to see the new 'Star Wars' film – great fun and we really enjoyed it!
Today the train was half-empty when I went to work – obviously quite a few people have started their Christmas holidays. It's fairly quiet as well in work. It's my boss's last day in and he gave me a £120 M&S voucher for my Christmas present which was a very welcome and very kind of him! I gave him the usual golf balls which he always likes!:)
Just before lunch my friend and I went over to Pret with the Christmas booze! They were all thrilled and we got more free coffee! I also popped over to M&S as I had to buy some pop socks – I had my M&S loyalty vouchers so only paid £2 instead of £9.
Tonight is my cousin's 60th – you wouldn't believe it but on Saturday evening one of my other cousins posted on the birthday Whats App that she had got the date wrong and thought the party was that night! Her and her husband were at the venue after driving quite a long way from their home! They had to drive back that night and are unable to come tonight! Another poor, frazzled women at Christmas who didn’t' look at the date properly as they assumed the party would be on a Saturday night!
Anyway I've got to change into my dressing up attire in the loo later on, catch the train and meet my DSis and OH at the other end and we're then driving to the party venue. DSis sounded absolutely frazzled on the phone this morning as well – she was still wrapping and has still to go out again for veg as she couldn't get half the stuff she wanted in M&S yesterday. Her OH is feeling rather poorly as well and may not be attending tonight!:(Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

What a lovely present from your boss
. I hope you enjoy the party tonight. It does seem a slightly odd time to have a party!
I've been feeling frazzled this year so next year I've decided that I'm going to buy and wrap all my presents by 30 November and write all my cards in November too. Then I can actually relax and enjoy December. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
