Sounds as if everything, especially your weighloss is going in the right direction.
Theatre tickets are so expensive but there’s nothing quite like seeing a live show - enjoy when it comes around.
    January spends - £587.58
  • I think my head is finally in the right place re. the weight loss milann. Though it was a 500 calorie today today - I made the mistake this evening of eating my small bowl of soup whilst Jamie Oliver was cooking up a storm on the TV! I switched him off!

Nothing worse than watching gorgeous food programmes whilst sucking on a lettuce leaf.....it’s really paid off for you though.

  • Thanks milann!:)

Ad hoc spends for yesterday was £2 for a colleague's leaving collection and £5 on a few cards to send to my friend. I don't envisage any today.

I am off to visit DD and OH for the weekend at the end of March so I have bought my return ticket today, but this came from the Holiday pot.

Also got something nice to look forward to at the beginning of May as DSis is taking me to the theatre as my birthday present from her and her OH. We're off to see Agatha Christie's "Witness For The Prosecution." I'm very excited because I'm a big Christie fan (as are redo and Hairy I know!). Although I've seen the old film with Marlene Dietrich and the TV adaptation that was on a few Christmases ago, each of these used one of the two different endings that Agatha Christie wrote. I don't know which one the play is using so still a bit of a surprise at the end – although even if I knew I'd still go – I read her books over and over again! And the play is being held in the Grand Chamber of the old London County Hall – which will be just like sitting in a courtroom whilst the trial is going on!:j

Still nothing heard yet on the remaining PPI issues.

    Have a good day everyone!

  • The theatre trip sounds excellent.
  • The plays sounds amazing :T I hope they don't change the ending as I hate it when they do that . I saw Mousetrap in London once about a hundred years ago and enjoyed that :rotfl:.

Visiting DD will give you something to look forward to as well :).

Hope you have a good day tomorrow :).

  • END OF SCRIMPY WEEK 4 – FEBRUARY

So Scirmpy Week 4 ended yesterday.

Ado Hoc spends since I last posted: £9.40 lunch on Saturday with my friend, plus £5.00 to get my cushion covers out of the dry cleaners.

Yesterday, I spent £4.20 for a coffee and scone with a friend plus £4.49 for a download from Itunes re. a documentary of Ruth Ginsburg called 'RBG'. I saw the drama about her yesterday at the cinema – "On the Basis of Sex" which was excellent and it made me want to find out more about her. We do have a lot to thank for these marvellous women who paved the way to change of laws in gender and civil rights discrimination. So I'll be watching the documentary tonight!

After the above Ad Hoc spends were deducted, there was £44.56 left over this week, but again this will be winged across to make up the deficit in the Entertainments pot.

Scrimpy Scores on the Doors for February: Grand total that went over to Ad Hoc Savings for this month from Ad Hoc Spends was £54.22. Also credited to the Spends this month was the Council Tax payment that I didn't have to pay this month, monthly interest/cash back from Santander, Opinium pay-out and money that should have paid for my pedicure but I couldn't get an appointment last Saturday so will start the month anew with a fresh pot.

I had some good news about my friend on Saturday in that she's feeling a lot brighter as she has had the tubes taken out of her throat and nose and the rest of her staples are being taken out this week. She will also be trying to drink a little tea today as the hospital wants to make sure that nothing will leak from her new tube in her throat. There is hope that if all continues to go well, she will be out of hospital by next week.:)

P.S. I didn't get to sort out the Glory Hole on Saturday or Sunday! Job for next weekend!

    SCRIMPY MONTH 3 – MARCH – WEEK 1

I got paid today but sorted all my YNAB pots out yesterday. I had my Tesco monthly delivery yesterday and after making the final repatriations to the Entertainments pot I have £72 weekly for the month in the Ad Hoc pots.

Today Ad Hoc spends was £5.10 for my usual Monday coffees with my friend. Also I spent £37.15 at Boots for my monthly Toiletries/Make Up stock-up – but apparently I saved over £16! I've also got to buy a new Vitamin D spray but will get that at Holland & Barrett on the way home tonight.

Weight News: Only 1lb off this week. BUT – as it was warmer at the weekend I wore a lighter jacket that I hadn't tried on since the colder weather started last year. It definitely felt looser round the middle so a really nice surprise! :)

PPI News: I've heard back from NatWest who confirmed I never had PPI with them. Also Halifax texted again on Friday to say that they'd nearly finished my review and I'll be getting a letter shortly! I don't expect a positive outcome here though. I'm really waiting on news on the loans that I took out years ago.

And finally I was so sorry to hear that Cumbria, although she will be updating her own diary, will not be posting on other diaries for the foreseeable future due to family commitments and time constraints. I will miss her bright, supportive posts on mine but everything goes well for her and her family.:(

  • Your spends sound very organised and tidy SSG :). Well done on your jacket feeling more roomy too :T.

I will also miss Cumbria posting on my diary but hopefully things will settle down for her soon so that she can get back to posting again.
