Thanks everyone for posting!
Enthusiasticsaver - I hear you on the washing up! I've been doing mine in the bathroom wash basin! Luckily it's been pared down to a plate, cereal bowl, and knife fork and spoon! BUT - oh joy, oh bliss, I came home last night to a fully functioning kitchen sink!:j. I think we're in the home run now....... hopefully it won't be too long before I can give the flat a good clean and put up the decorations.
I bought a big box of Belgian Chocolate Biscuits yesterday in M&S - they were half price down from £15 to £7.50. I'm giving these, along with a bottle of Prosecco, to DSis's sister in law who is hosting Christmas lunch for us this year.
Woke up today to a dark day with teeming rain! Last night I felt shattered. I've only been back at work three days but I think the overnight plane journey finally caught up with me. I decided to miss our town's Xmas parade and have an early night. Woke up quite early though this morning and feel refreshed!
Today's jobs will include tidying up as best I can, braving the elements to buy the booze elements of my present list, writing out my Christmas cards and wrapping some presents! Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

It's finally finished! Actually it ended on Tuesday. I'm so pleased with it!:j And I finally have a dishwasher again! Well it's a slimline one but that's big enough for me.
The only thing is that the house is still a mess and I haven't cleaned the kitchen down or moved anything back yet. I've been flat out at work and quite tired so haven't done anything much in the way of housework all last week. And this weekend I am at DD's - arrived after work on Thursday evening so I haven't been able to clear up. I'm on the early train back on Monday and was going to go straight into work as usual but I ended up booking Monday out as holiday so I can get cracking on the flat as soon as I arrive home.
It is really weird but its the first time I can remember that it hasn't felt that Christmassy to me. I think it's because I haven't been able to put the decccies up yet and am behind with wrapping presents - I still haven't written out the majority of my cards yet!:(
Still got a few presents to get but at least I'm coming to the end of it - they can be ordered on line.
Anyway I'm having a lovely time at DD's - her town lends itself to Christmas and I've felt more in the festive spirit up here. We both went out round the town esterday - she still had presents to buy. We went in a lovely cafe and had mulled wine and mince pies half way through our trip and her and her OH treated me to a tasty meal out in the evening. Then we went home and watched one of the Star Wars films!
Today we are going to the local outlet as I want to get DD's suitcase which I'm buying her for Christmas. We're out again this evening with her OH's DSs and one DS's OH.
Blowing quite a gale and heavy rain last night so hope it clears up but at least we'll be under cover at the outlet.
Will be back later to catch up with diaries.
