Right, paid everything which needs to be paid out this month. So the money i have left until next payday will be my own. I'm going to set myself a budget of £50 per week, this will be tight as travel, lunches, socialising etc will need to come out of this. Realistically some weeks will probably be more, others could be less just depending on my outgoings for that day etc. Having a target will hopefully enable me to stay on track.
I'm going to also get some Xmas presents although obviously that won't come out of my weekly budget.
Really need to be careful this month and only spend on "necessary" things, fingers crossed, think i'm gonna need it

Thought i'd do a little update. I'm finding it quite difficult to stick to a £50 budget per week as that will include everything, travel, lunches, nights out etc. As from today i've bought my lunch in from home and i'm not going to buy any sweety snacks either, that will save me at least £3.50 per day. Also buying cigarettes daily is really denting the budget
, going to carry on reading my Alan Carr book, cut down gradually until i've read it, then hopefully quit for good. 0 -

I think you're supposed to smoke normally until you finish it, then stop. But getting back onto the "Stopping smoking" thread and asking there is going to be better.

Thanks ZTD, shall do that
.Just worked out how much i'd save per month if i take my own lunch into work everyday and quit smoking, it would approximately be £140!!! 0 -

It's shocking when you had up the yearly total. Today i'll have only spent £2 which is fab as that's just on travel, normally it would be at least 3-4 times that amount, maybe more. My plan of action for the week are:* List more items on ebay* Spend as little as possible daily* Bring a packed lunch into work* Carry on reading my Allan Carr, stop smoking book* Enter as many on-line competitions as possible* Sort out a budget for next month, seeing what my outgoings are etc0

Even more so when you divide by your post-tax-and-deductions hourly wage..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Hi babes....just want to wish you luck in quitting smoking.
If there is one thing I love to see MSE'ers do, it's kick the ciggies! I haven't smoked myself but members of my family quit smoking (and they smoked a lot...it put me off as a teenager!) and I am so happy they did as hopefully it means (touch wood) they will be around longer for us and they're saving money too.
