Thank you LA, just had another call from another company who's going to forward my CV on, hopefully i'll hear from that one in a few weeks too, unsure what the starting salary will be, so obviously need to look into that a bit more as the distance is a bit further than to what i'm travelling to as yet.
All good as yet though.0 -
Oh all good stuff! It's getting your CV out there - a bit like putting lots of hooks in a pond. A fish'll bite eventually!

Salaries can be negotiated (if in private sector) if they want you and the fact that you have to travel further in could be a good negotiating tool.Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

This week i've spent £41.75 which means i succeeded in my weekly target :T, quite chuffed with that actually as added with nights out etc, i could easily have doubled that but didn't
.
I have around £40+ in my piggy and i've made over £100 on ebay in the past few weeks.
I'm going to blackpool for the weekend the week after next with my bf, so i'm aiming to keep on exceeding my weekly budget target

OK I would suggest have a couple of months of no spend and get these debts repaid quickly - here is my suggestion:
Month 1
Here's my monthly SOA:
Incoming:
* £950 per month
Outgoings:
* £120 - rent to parents
* £20 - internet connection
* £35 - mobile phone (started the contract in April)
* £20 - Capital One (have a balance of £180, with quite a high apr,trying to clear this off ASAP so will budget for the rest of the month and will try to pay it off in full then)
* £20 - Studio (balance of around £200, the balance never seems to go down as they take a service charge of almost half of what you pay each month, as above trying to clear this asap)
* £40 - Travel to work
* £0 - Clothes
* £0 - Socialising
* £30 - Cigarettes (cut down quite a lot and am looking to quit)
* £0- Lunch and snacks at work (this is another problem area, may start taking packed lunches and cut all the snacks out and take it from home instead)
Total = £285
Remaining: £665
Pay off Cap one balance and Studio balance = £380
Surplus - £285 - I would put aside this for if you have an emergency or temptation, but ONLY if there is no alternative.
Month 2
Here's my monthly SOA:
Incoming:
* £950 per month
Outgoings:
* £120 - rent to parents
* £20 - internet connection
* £35 - mobile phone (started the contract in April)
* £40 - Travel to work
* £30 - Clothes
* £50 - Socialising
* £30 - Cigarettes (cut down quite a lot and am looking to quit)
* £0 - Lunch and snacks at work (this is another problem area, may start taking packed lunches and cut all the snacks out and take it from home instead)
Total = £325
Remaining: £625
Put £500 in ISA and £100 buffer
Then take the advice about chnging costs of you other outgoings and put at least £200 a month in the ISA and you will be debt free and able to spend the same amount on clothes and socialising with only 2 months of sacrifice!£4000 challenge
Currently leftover - £3872.150 -
Hiya Nicola, i stated a few pages back that my Studio as now been paid off
, also got £75 balance on my Capital One account which will be cleared in the next week or so.
I'm putting more into my ISA monthly etc so all is well as yet
, thanks for your post

Brilliant - good to hear you are nearly debt free. I would definitely set up a standing order then for at least £200pcm savings. You may want to look into setting up a pension plan too.£4000 challenge

I do put money into a ISA, although this differs from month to month, could be more, could be less. I have a pension plan with work, if i ever switched jobs then that can be transferred over.0 -

Hello LA
I'm doing good thanks, managing to keep to my weekly budgets, so that's a start eh?
.
Haven't heard back from the job which i applied for as yet, but the closing date isn't until the 22nd of this month so i guess i should hopefully hear something next week or so. I have two weeks off work now :j, so during that time i'm going to apply for as many jobs as i can.0 -
Hi there! :hello:
Oooh two weeks off eh? I am *so* envious! Have a wonderful break and good luck with the job hunting.
I hope you hear something back in that time from the one that closes tomorrow (22nd).
