If you are already a E.ON customer then it is not available to you.
It is a new customer only tariff.

Ah what a load of b*, don't really want to move over to another provider but may have to if it means saving £200-300.

How do I switch to the new Eon offer? I don't see it on the MSE switch page which I've been signed up for months...?

    "Next cheapest open-market 1yr fix: Eon £760/yr - £30 cashback, £30/fuel exit fee"

If you arenot being offered it, or are unable to switch to it using the comparison site, you can't have it.

Why would you even want a tariff that you have no idea what it would be costing you ?

Any comparison site will tell you the cheapest option for you , and the CEC should even send you an alert (subject to the minimum trigger amount you have requested)

Sorry to have confused you Footyguy but I have switched but I do have a 14 day cooling off period. I did try to get help from British Gas but its like talking to a brick wall.....

If you have got cold feet now you have applied, then you seem to know all about the cooling off peroiod, so take advantage of it :)

the CEC will indicate the cheapest deal for you ... but annoyingly it does not automatically check the single fuel options which can often save you more, so worth a maunal check at those too :)

yeah all 3 accounts are in my name and registered at the same address. The flats 4 stories and uses to be separate houses but now its just the one.

If i transfer to the dual deal, do you know if its possible to then phone up and get the other two accounts switched to the same deal?

Not sure whether to switch to dual british gas deal and then switch the other two gas accounts to a gas only deal to a diff provider.

Yes I know you cannot phone up BG and ask for the MSE collective tariff deal.

Follow my earlier advice, and concentrate on getting all the consumption going through the one meter, and then you won't have to pay 3 lots of standing charges

    Hello everyone!

We've just moved over the weekend to a new property and I want to take advantage of the MSE Energy Switch to get the best possible tariff. The gas supply is with British Gas (we've got a 'To the Occupier" letter from them) and the electricity is with either SSE or ScottishPower (we're not sure yet).

The problem is, the electric meter is a prepay one (with the token)!

I've noticed this while viewing the place and we've obtained permission from the landlord (it's a rental) to replace the meter with a credit type. The question is, can we change the meter and switch supplier in 1 step? If not, how to proceed in order to do it as quickly as possible (make the deadline for the MSE tariff) and not having to pay any unnecessary fees?

Another consideration is, that on our last property the bills were not in neither of our names. I do have a credit history (on the electoral roll in the previous address, have a credit card in regular use and overdraft, had a settled phone contract, no defaults or other nasty stuff etc) but not a utility bill per se. Would that -generally- be a hindrance to changing the meter?

I've never done this process before, so apologies if the questions may sound simplistic.

    One step at a time.

First register with the existing supplier(s)

It's unlikley you will have a credit meter before applications for the MSE/BG collective tariff expires. Don't worry, it's probably not the cheapest option for you anyway.
Check for the best deals when you are in the position to actually apply to switch. (so it sounds like you can do that today for gas ... once you first register with BG)

My eon fixed v19 ends 28th Feb. Is it worth waiting till Jan 10 to avoid 60 exit fees?

Eon recently revised monthly to £86/m so I am confused. Suspect its done for this reason?

Would like to get on to BG deal.

    Thanks in advance
    GB

Consult a comparison site and see if the savings are so great you will anticipate saving the £60 early exit fees between now and the end of the year. I very much doubt it, if you picked wisely in the first place.

You are the type of 'sticky' customer any supplier would love.

But loyalty has no place in moneysaving, I'm afraid.

Consult a comparison site to find the best deals for you.

Nor is it money saving to switch from an efficient supplier to an incompetent one just to get a cheaper tariff.

Not necessarily! I stayed with Scottish Power for several years as the £~150 per annum compensation for their !!!!-ups was something I quite got used to receiving.

I had something akin to withdrawal symptoms when I switched to EdF - but not for long. :rotfl:

I've just been informed by British Gas (BG) that the projected "Extra Spend" I have saved from their Standard Tariff is £322.82 per year by switching from BG to BG on this MSE Big Energy Switch and I can still use my Smart Meter:)
