I got switched within a couple of days -- great, though I did notice one thing which I've just emailed customer services about:
In the "important information" email for ELECTRICITY it states
Unit rate
9.05p per kWh
Standing charge‡
21.81p per day
In the "important information" for GAS it states
Unit rate
2.66p per kWh
Standing charge‡
21.81p per day
However ONLINE under "my account" i see
Unit rate
9.15p per kWh
Standing charge
21.81p per day[4]
Unit rate
2.71p per kWh
Standing charge
21.81p per day[4]
Ok in fact the actual figures listed were:
Collective Fixed Oct 2017 - from MSE
21.809 p/day 9.041 p/kWh electricity
21.809 p/day 2.657/kWh gas
2 digit rounding... probably just for presentation. Anyway I can deal with that..What goes around - comes around

British gas cheaper than any other with no get out fee, rubbish. They have quoted me £101 pound a month more than I pay and a get out fee, please explain please. I am with GB energy. Live in a terrace 3 bedroom house with central heating. In the premises day and night as I work from home. I pay £44 for 6 month and £87 for 6 months and in credit.
Hi COS, did you get your quote through the Cheap Energy Club? Thanks, MattI am the official company representative of British Gas. Like you I am swopping from the BG MSE Collective Feb 17 to this Oct 17 BG MSE Collective Switch, I only applied last Friday 30th so I am running a week behind you, so far only I've only received the MSE email acknowledging my application. I'll be interested in the timing of your progress to give me some idea of timings.
Are any other doing the same swop and what is their progress in the process?
P.S. I would have applied earlier as I mistakenly thought that the switch would be more or less immediate if already a BG customer.
Hi M271, I'd expect you get an email from us by Monday at the latest.
If not, please just give our Collective Tariff Team a call on 0800 975 9712 & we'll check everything's okay. Cheers, MattI am the official company representative of British Gas. Hi planetf1, we did have a hiccup with some of the prices displayed online, which has now been sorted out. Is your online account still showing different prices? My online account is showing electricity at 8.90p/kWh and gas at 2.58p/kWh.
According to my welcome email I should be on 8.79 and 2.54.
My IHD is still also showing my old tariff costs.0 -
Never got an email from BG but I have checked my account and I have been switched.0

I can't log into my online account because I don't have a customer reference number. I am due to be switched in 2 days! How do I get a ref number? I was only sent an order number on 22nd of September...0

Thanks for the quick reply - but yes, the online account (as of 13:18 today) is still showing the values I quoted above - a little higher than the agreed rate.
I did email your collective support account too (yesterday before posting here)

I received email asking to complete my details which I did. Still couldnt open account.
Phoned up. Got marketing whilst I waited for someone to answer. After going round and round on the British Gas website it was all terribly familiar. Large organisation aimed at more selling with a confusing website and email communication. Asked customer services to cancel my change. They have apparently done this. I asked for written confirmation and they investigated and said letter would be sent in 7 to 14 days.0 -
As and existing BG customer I haven't had any emails but have logged into my account and I am on the new tariff. No idea what mse said the kwh per day etc was supposed to be (i can't remember)!0
