Morning!
I am soooo tired....some fool decided to make toast at half-past one this morning...and managed to not only burn it, but burn it with enough smoke to set off the fire alarm...20 minutes it was blaring/flashing....there are some very tired and grumpy residents this morning!
I only take one vitamin....a multivit/mineral...I did take an extra high-dose fish oil for a while, recommended by my skin specialist, but it had absolutely no effect - even after months of taking it, so I decided to save the cash and stop buying those.
My multivit/mineral is one that is designed for the older woman (50+)...I used to take the one designed for 'woman'...then one for 'menopausal women'....now it is 'older 50+'....and another decade or so and it will be the 'older woman 70+'...assuming I am still around!0 -
Hi everyone.
first an update on the Boswellia.....spoke too soon. It did affect my stomach after all so I've had to give it up. Pity because it was great for pain relief. Hey ho. The search continues. I have ordered some boswelia cream, so hopefully that might have similar pain relieving effects but without the added stomach complications. I'll keep you posted.
Wednesday.....like you I went for a massage yesterday, a deep tissue Swedish massage. I almost leapt off the table in pain......I don't know which was worse the original pain issue or the treatment. :rotfl: talk about making my eyes water. My poor Physio kept apologising. She could see how bad my muscles were and that I was in a lot of pain.
However, I did feel better afterwards. I slept like a log and I feel a lot better today.
Noticed I now have a large bony deposit on my right hand....that's a new one.
Re vitamins.....yes I take a fair few, all recommended by the nutritionist I saw. The one thing that helps me more than anything is a high strength probiotic. I really notice a difference in my digestive health if I run out.
I notice that you can now get probiotics specifically aimed at helping foreign travel. Given that I always, without fail, fall victim to what I shall politely call "travellers tummy" I think I might give them a try on my next foreign excursion.
Reservatrol..... not tried that but I do enjoy a glass of red wine. :rotfl:
ELona......well done on the weight loss. That's terrific. Hope the boswellia suits you.
Hope you are all well. I have found the colder weather has affected my muscles but that is to be expected.0 -
Prinzess I'm glad you got DWP to sort out their error; but I'm sure you could have done without the stress. Idiots! They make me so cross; the process is bad enough to begin with, without them screwing up the payments.
Cranky ouchy! I hope you're not too sore; and well done to the House Troll for aiding you.
Wednesday I take a multivitamin, an iron tablet, and calcium supplement.
I'm pleased your head massage was beneficial. I'm afraid I couldn't take that, I have a total phobia of anyone other than Mr LW touching me.
I'm very sore and tired today; we went to the cinema yesterday, after Daisy was collected, as Mr LW wanted to see "The Limehouse Golem". It was very good, absolutely gripping; but as always, visiting the cinema has taken it's toll on me. If it was down to me, I wouldn't bother; but Mr LW likes to go, and won't go on his own, the daftie.
Bluebell should be here in about 25 minutes. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I did the laundry and the online order so I went to the shop to buy fresh lemons for my ginger tea. It's quite warm and sunny out there now.
My husband is going out to the cinema so I will have a quiet afternoon watching TV and doing my photo album. :Alessonlearned wrote: »

Oh, wow, I couldn't take that much pressure these days.:D It's nice that you got a good sleep afterwards.:)
I was taking a probiotic but ran out and haven't replaced them, another thing to add to my list, haha!0 -
We survived a wet and windy holiday in N Wales, to be fair the first 3 days were pretty good and we did some nice things. I caught a head cold while away and was a bit under the weather, but OH now has one and has been really suffering, this is the man who is hardly ever ill, so it hit him pretty hard.
I too have been for a deep tissue massage this morning, rather ouchy, but I normally benefit greatly. Back at gym yesterday, I am pleased that I have felt much stronger the last few sessions and had better recovery time too:D PT is brilliant and always ensures that he is au fait with my latest condition and makes sure that I do not do more damage.
My GP is not back at surgery until 1st week of October, so cannot start the Hydroxychloroquine yet, but am taking the opportunity of having an eye test as specified by the Consultant and also continuing to try and heal my gut. Taking pre and pro-biotics and being very careful about what I eat, it seems to be paying off so far as I have slept through several nights (unheard of) and being much more comfortable IYSWIM
LL - sorry that the Boswellia has caused problems, it seemed so promising for you.
Wednesday - enjoy your afternoon to yourself. (OH and I managed not to commit murder even tho' we were banged up together in a small caravan for a week!
Lamewolf - I hope that Bluebell is settled in.
Cranky - I hope that you are not too sore, well done to the HT.
AOT - It must have been awful being trapped in your home, I hope that it does not happen again.
Prinzessilein - I hope that you have regained your equilibrium, it was so wrong of them to just assume circumstances without evidence.
There is a mountain of dirty washing awaiting sorting and dealing with, neither of us has felt up to it since we got home.
Miss Border Collie didn't get a free run yesterday as OH was so poorly, but I did manage to hobble around the block with her yesterday afternoon, she was not too happy at having to wear her Halti, but I am just not strong enough to hold her if she suddenly deviates to explore a particularly attractive smell she has found, to be fair to her she is not badly behaved, but I am rather feeble:)The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. 'LL sorry re your tummy probs. Probiotic wise I use acidophilus to line my tum, as I take a lot of NSAIDS for arthritis , not medical advice BTW
Am absolutely frozen again today! Think my thyroid needs checking again lol :oIt was "borderline " last time, which from experience at my docs means, they CBA treating me for something
LW I bet you're already havibg squishy, staffy songs with Bluebell ❤

Re Miss Border Collie - if you're not totally confident of being strong enough to hold her, it's best to play safe in my opinion. After all, if she pulls you over and you hurt yourself while your DH is poorly, who will take her for any sort of a walk? Shame I'm not near you, I'd have gladly walked her for you.
Candygirl I've already been treated to a "Staffie Kiss" and had my bare foot trodden on twice.:rotfl:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Ouchy LW! They have little, sharp feet don't they? Naughty Bon is currently running round with a dead aloe Vera plant lol 😁
MM my late collie, n labs all hated their haltis at first, but soon got used to them, n made my life so much easier when walking them ☺"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Hi everyone! I'm always playing catch up, I can never remember who posted what so I'm sorry I don't personally reply to people.
I've had the hating on quite a bit and I'm changing from my summer 4.5 tog quilt to my 9tog one tomorrow as it's just too chilly! I'm another one with the quilts you clip together and I've had mine 10 years and it's still amazing! Each half gets laundered and it's really still has loads of feathers and is really fluffy!
I've been playing around with my diet and have cut all the rubbish out and I've gon GF and Dairy free after talking to my nurse, it's made a massive difference to how I feel and I've lost 7lb! Really pleased with that.
I take a few multi vitamins
A high dose Vitamin D, B plus, C , turmeric, and a multi vit too.
Kids are back at school and DS is so tired, he is only just 4 so it's a lot for him. I'm phasing back into work and I'm feeling quite confident which surprised me as I was so worried about going back.
You have all reminded me I need to get my flu jab booked in!
Hope everyone is well - I'm sitting on the side with the fire on and a blanket as it's chilly tonight, think it will be an early night here!Living the simple life0 -
I want to get my flu jab too, I've been having it at the pharmacy over the past few years as I was a carer for my husband so it was free there. I wonder if I get it at the GP now I have fibro. Another thing to ask my poor GP when I see him.:D
I got my period yesterday (a few days early) and I didn't have much pain at all. I'm wondering if that was because I had the massage the day before or that I was drinking the ginger tea yesterday.
I think I will start the day with ginger tea all month from now on.Ginger Tea to Relieve Menstrual Cramps | LIVESTRONG.COM2025 GOALS
