  • Terrible night again last night, still awake at 4am telephone woke me at 7.15 am Arrgghhhh.

I did have a nap this afternoon, but felt lousy when I woke up. We did not go out today, we had to wait in for a delivery, so a very quiet anniversary for us. This time 20 years ago we were enjoying a stay in a hotel in Harrogate courtesy of the National Trust. It was a free weekend to introduce us to the delights of Yorkshire for the NT holidays. We had flowers, chocolates and champagne in our room when we booked in.

Managed to get towels almost dry outside, its raining again now.

OH spent an hour or so in the garden this morning, the wind on Thursday had almost ripped a lavatera out by its roots. It got pruned and then heeled back in.

OH did fritatta and salad fro supper tonight. Its mince something tomorrow, cooked the mince today, its in the fridge allowing the flavour to develop a bit, not sure of its going to be spag bol, mince and dough balls or shepherds pie.

    I hope I sleep tonight...............
  • I've seen so many various posts ignoring pacing and I hold my hand up including me . One that really struck me was by Doom and Gloom about overtime .Both taking on more hours and having to pretty well fight to get them while you need to find some help to handle you illness could really set you back . I'm not picking you out as we all do things thinking we wont have payback . would you read that post again and imagine that was one of your family do you think that would be a good idea ?

I have not slept since I got up on Sunday morning , that's the flare following all that I needed to on the Friday that seemed to go on for ever . I've refused to crash during the day as that will knock the carefully trained body clock haywire . To be up early enough for stupidly early regular appointments I have to resist nodding off during the day .
As a result of being slightly more tired than usual there will probably be posts by me which mangle or miss out words even more than usual . As they say in Miranda , bear with !!!

I usually ask about overtime after I've had to phone in due to my conditions. I don't get paid if I don't go in so it's really me trying to keep my hours and such my pay. If my hours are short it means the budget gets squeezed :o. I was short on hours for my last two payslips, we have to take the hit if I can't claw back the hours through overtime. I'm only a part timer as it is and if I'm asking for overtime other than to claw back I've worked out not to do more than 8 extra hours that week, usually a short 4 hour, and I certainly wouldn't do it every week.
Yep I can hear the excuses :o and yes if it was my family doing this I'd be worried for them if I'm honest.
Don't worry I didn't think you were picking on me at all.

I'm glad you managed to sleep eventually Polly.

LameWolf sorry about your lack of sleep. Not pacing with lack of sleep is not going to do you any favours (I know says me). Enjoy the sofa. Have a tea/coffee/drink of choice.

I'm relaxing on the sofa after being out earlier.

Hope everyone is doing good and if not hope things improve.
I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy :D
  • Back after someone in real life pointed out that I was actually awake for 37 hours not 27 . No wonder I was tired .
Prinzess Shame you struggled but at least Mum has her walker and one less thing on the to do list . I hope the migraine is beginning to ease and you can get some rest .
LW I think the weather is piling on the agony for a lot of us . I'd send some spoons but even the emergency supply is long gone . March tomorrow I bet your on countdown to your next guest .
Csarina Another bad night , you must be so fed up and frustrated . With luck you may be able to have a belated anniversary treat when things and the weather are more settled . Sending the sleep vibes your way .
D&G Your post shows the day to day dilemmas we all face .Not everyone can down tools and walk away . I'll discuss this tomorrow as I need to reply to Doom and Gloom as promised earlier .
I wish rest and some peace from the daily struggles to all posting or reading here .
Tomorrow is the first day of Spring :)

It is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

There but for fortune go you and I.
  • I have given up and come to bed. OH is watching TV, he will bring my drink and biscuit in when he comes through, if I am still awake!!

    Morning everyone,
I hope those that are sleep deprived got a better rest last night.
While I didn't sleep great I seem to have lost the dragging listlessness feeling that has haunted me for the last couple of weeks and I'm hoping it means the meniere's is coming out of active cycle and back to the everyday roar.....
If it stays dry I'm going to wrap up well and "air my wheels" it's hard going being out but I always feel a sense of achievement if I manage round the block which is a great mood booster :)
    Anyway onwards and upwards...........:D

I gave up and slept on the sofa last night. Not terribly comfortable, but I did get a better night. Mr LW is not happy, however; I think he takes it as a personal affront. :(

I have a list of tasks that want doing, as long as my arm; and insufficient spoons to do very many of them. Familiar scenario to all of us, methinks.

First up, when I can pry Mr LW off the pc, is to finish the First Aid For Dogs course (I want to use the pc for that, as it's a nice big screen, easier to read the text and to follow the U-Toob tutorials included than it is on my little netbook).

Bungalow needs vacuuming, but I think I may leave that til Friday, so that it's all nice and clean ready for Lizzie Sprocker's arrival on Saturday.

I hope everyone else here is having the best day they can; the sun is attempting to shine here in Concrete Cow Country. :o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Thanks Prinzessilein and thanks Polly, I've had a bad couple of days and when I'm like that I tend to rabbit on but not read properly. The RV would get me banned from all and any govt money forever - I daren't let him near a phone lol. He would tell them just what he thinks of them and we'd proby end up locked in the Tower :rotfl:
  • Better nights sleep last night, so feeling a bit better today. After I got up we went round to the little chapel for a cup of coffee, or in our case tea. My neighbour asked if we were going into town, so after tea and a chat we nipped into town, put fuel in the car and got a few bits from Morrison.

I had been craving a crusty corned beef cob, so cobs and corned beef bought, enjoyed every mouthful, scrummy.

OH went out to mow the front grass so I took advantage and went to bed, slept for a while, which has to be good. Still not done the ironing I will get round to it eventually.

Mince, spuds and mixed veg for supper, OH is in charge.
