Good morning,
Good gracious Miss Polly I do hope you managed to have some sleep last night, if not I hope you try to rest when possible.
Thank you for your lovely words, but I think we each of us, in some small way, try to support and show care and love, something we badly need when times are hard. Just reading this thread shows me how much some people have to cope with.
Well I have my yearly retinal screening tomorrow. Last year I was almost told off because I have quite an advanced catarract on my right eye (not ready yet) and she couldn't see clearly at the back of my eye. I said I'm sorry but really I can't do anything about that:(:(
The sky is watery blue this morning, we didn't have a sprinkling of snow as promised, but it is cold. The men are due back today to carry on with laying the patio.
Have a good day all

Afternoon everyone,
I've been a bit of a snoozy slug today but feel the better for it and hoping it means my current active bout of Meniere's is ratching down a bit. It's been on "high" for three weeks now so due to begin to settle to whatever resembles "normal" these days:cool:
Polly I've only just worked out how you knew I was up after "lights out" lol - so simple but I never clocked it before and to think I got my Observers badge in the Guides :rotfl:
Hope everyone has had a good day x0 -
Hi
Thanks Caronc for posting of your experience of PIP. I will seriously consider whether this is the road to go down.
Polly - Yes I am in Liverpool and have experience of the Royal as that was where I was assessed and then started my rehabilitation course before transferring to Broadgreen to complete it. I've never been referred to a pain clinic ever and funnily enough was something the therapist asked when I attended last week.
I'm open to new things and whilst there is a hint of uncertainty, the bigger part hopes that something new can be found that I'm missing out on doing or have got too complacent and am not doing. All I know is that I hate how this makes me feel and can identify with all the previous posts as I've followed from the start. The feeling of thinking yay - energy, feeling brighter, let's do something different (without having paced in advance and banked enough energy), only to do said crazy thing (whatever it is) and then suffer the consequences, leave me feeling lethargic, sore, thoroughly fed up and low in spirit. On the not very good days, everything is an effort. I do get annoyed at myself and whilst I have confidence to do my job and be there for other people and hold my own, I'm the first to be harsh on myself. The common sense side of me says - why be harsh on myself; I'm holding down a busy, pressured job that I have a good reputation in; I have a nice home and lovely DH - but when the pain is pants and I have no energy even the easter bunny doesn't look good .... talking of which, off to find chocolate. Hopefully the CBT will help. Will let you know how I go.
Be good and remember, pace, pace, pace. No-one ever died from dust (well at least, I haven't yet :rotfl:).I got there - I'm debt free and intend to stay that way. If I haven't got the cash, it doesn't get bought. It's as simple as that.0 -
I've just had a catch up on todays' posts so far .
Candlelight the "good gracious Miss Polly " comment has now planted the Good golly Miss Molly song in the head , bit of Rick Rolling there ! Good luck with tomorrows appt . Sounds to me as though she needs an eye test herself . The guys are really cracking on with the work , lets hope we'll get a decent summer so you can enjoy it x
Caronc I too have the Guide badge but I was also a brownie leader so maybe that gives me the edge :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
At least you've had a quiet day today .
Well after 27 hours without sleep I slept a solid 8 hours when I went to bed and feel a lot better for it .
It was unwise to watch Broadchurch as the story was a traumatic one . The lovely DT kept me watching so I'll keep following as I want to see how things end .

Good Evening!
I'm feeling a bit washed-and-put-through-the-mangle today. ...Mum wanted to go and get her new walker (4 wheeler, with a seat) and I needed to go to the bank - so we went into town this morning. When I left I was almost certain I could make the trip...halfway home I was CERTAIN it was too much!...Still, I got back and was able to settle down quietly and recover, and even though it was too much I was actually pleased to get it out of the way. (I am only waiting for my PIP to be decided and then I am switching banks - mine is closing all current accounts)....then this afternoon the sky went dark followed by a huge hailstorm...which has left me with a migraine..thankfully I have stuff prescribed for this, so will soon settle down and let the tablets do their stuff!
I was a Girl Guide...never got my Observers badge though!
For those going through the PIP application...you can get a friend/relative/carer to make the initial phonecall....I don't use the phone, Mum made the call, the DWP woman asked for me to come to the phone and speak my name and state I wanted Mum to talk on my behalf ...and at the end I was asked to speak again and give a yes/no answer to the 'do you agree with everything your Mum has said'....I had been terrified of the phonecall, but it was actually made quite easy for me!0 -
I haven't been following this - are you saying that we have to apply to be switched from DLA to PIP over the phone?? How long does that call take??0
-
When you get the letter 'inviting' you to change from DLA to PIP then there is a phone number...you phone this to start your application.
As I said, you can have someone make the call for you - although you need to be there.
They ask for basic details...name of GP ...whether you are applying on special (terminal illness) grounds....and they asked if I had any specific conditions including Autism (which I have)...I am hoping this will mean they are open to a home visit (or no face to face!)....and then they asked if they could contact my GP....
I'm guessing it was about 20 minutes.
After the phonecall they send you the booklet/forms to complete and send back.0 -
*Waves feebly to everyone and flops down on sofa*.
What were we saying about overdoing it?
NO sleep last night (Mr LW spent the entire night doing his impression of a buzz-saw).
Coloured my hair this morning - well, more accurately, Mr LW coloured it, I just sat in the bathroom shivering. But at least my silver badger-stripe is gone.
This afternoon, I'd hoped to finish my online course I'm doing (First Aid for Dogs) but had to admit defeat when my hands got too painful to write any more notes. Still, I'm on the final module; hopefully finish it later this week.
Pacing? What's that, then?:cool:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Mar I posted about the phone call in the last few days . I was allowed to do the phone call with dd in the room . I explained her extreme anxiety etc and they didn't press to speak to her . It depends if the RV is your appointee with DWP which involves a visit from DWP with you present to agree he is allowed to act on your behalf . I imagine you do it yourself paperwork and appointment wise
Hi LW and Prinzess I'll be back in while .
Curly Top I wrote a long reply to you after my other post earlier cue the I am not a robot scenario and log in message . I WAS logged in I'd just posted . In the end the laptop went off to protect itself . I've just come back on and straight away I'm on the old format which is what I post on having read through on the new one. When I log out Im back on the new one again . Somewhere out in the ether is my post so I'll have my delayed meal and be back ( fingers crossed in about an hour .
