I slept in the sewing room last night, had a decent night. I have to get up in the morning to get to the Drs. I hope there is not a full surgery, I doubt I will be able to sit and wait for long.
Will report later in the day.0 -
LW ans Caronc , the stress , anxiety and worry starts building way before appointment dates then add on the travel and face to face engagement on the day plus another journey home and it takes even longer to recover afterwards . Rest as much as you can we'll be here when you feel up to things again .

Csarina I hope you manage another reasonable nights sleep tonight and hope all is well at the doctors . x
Prinzess your flat sounds perfect . I'm so happy the move has improved your life , it must be good that you and mum are so close to each other now , no more crossing the road in all weathers . The ground floor is much better for you and perhaps that will be your forever home .
Mardatha - note the full title - you can't convince me that if Peter Gunn arrived on your doorstep you wouldn't shift heaven , earth and if necessary the RV to find a wee corner for him . Pull the other one Missus it's got bells on

Managed to the Drs. I have a urine infection so medication for that. BP checked, its ok, bloods done.....have to wait for the result. Saw a different Dr, he was very nice, at least he does not have halitosis like the other one has.
Its blowing more than a hoolie, the plastic greenhouse we had blew over the 6ft back gate and landed on the front lawn,:eek::eek:we managed to catch it before it went bowling up the street. I have broken it, and the plant house, up. Fed up of replacing the blasted things, so from now on we will go without.:mad:
Supper prepped, sausage casserole with beans......all OH has to do is turn it on and cook the veggies, I will be repairing back to bed after lunch.0 -
Caronc Maybe we should form our own met office . Through the thread there's been discussion about knowing what the weather will do by how we feel .
Hope everyone is ok , up here in the north we've been getting the full force of Doris for a few hours now and she isn't nice . I've possibly had some tiles damaged on the roof judging by the noise . Trees are down locally and I'm watching one of mine , thankfully a small clipped standard which bending back and forth .
I wont go out to investigate until the storm moves away hopefully in six hours or so .
Will go out tomorrow . Today I'm staying put .
Take care all I'll be back in a bit unless the electric cuts again .

Morning everyone
I'm feeling a bit more like it today though still pretty unsteady.
Storm is raging but thankfully no snow and I'm not straying over the doorstep.
Hope everyone is safe and warm x0 -
Crossposted Csarina . Glad the appt went well and hope the meds kick in soon and do the job .
I've still got one of the small plastic greenhouses . I seem to have bought replacements or covers which later become unavailable for years . I have this one against the side of the arbour which gives shelter from the winds that batter in from the Irish sea . It's not pretty but I've wrapped washing line around it top and bottom just above and below the door and that is taken through the very thick wooden trellis side panel of the arbour and tied there , so far so good .
I hope you didn't have any plants in there , I do put a few in to overwinter . Sleep well and lets hope for better weather tomorrow .

Heavy snow here since 3am, still pelting down. It's quite wet though and going slushy on the road, staying white on the fields and hills. Very miserable day and I'm bored.0

I've been wondering how you and WCS are doing today . That 20cm you were talking about yesterday seems to have been upped to maybe 30cm at higher levels !2ins in old money .
Can't think of anything to help with the boredom . Have watched the further back in time for dinner series on bbc2 this time ? I've found it interesting although the mum still annoys me . It ends next week with a recap . They've gone through votes for women , two world wars and have reached 1950 at the end of the programme .
As I was born in 48 it was good to see the things I was too young to recall and also the continuation of rationing and the food convoys as that was my dads war service . There was so much hope for a brave new world .
Do you have brawn ( the edible variety) north of the border ? I hated it and would not eat it now if threatened with torture . What I found interesting was neither parent had heard of it . It was a make from scratch challenge and rather than the pink slices of my childhood the mum presented tough lumps of meat in a watery gravy . I really admire the daughter who always praises the food the faces of the rest of the family told a different story as they chewed in vain .
I think our interest in social and domestic history helps us with these re-enactments . I was shocked at a map showing the vulnerability of the food convoys . Nowadays we wouldn't have either ships or aircraft to do that .
Rambled again will be back later .
