Prinzessilein I really hope you get that ground floor flat. Everything I can cross is crossed for you. :o

Candygirl you'll never replace Candy, but Bonnie will fill up that dog-shaped hole in your life.

Wish me luck, folks; my shoulders and knees are giving me serious gyp today, despite multiple doses of Oramorph, and I have to throw the Dys0n round the bungalow in a few minutes.

Yes, the winter is always worse; as are wet days.

I'm unsure if the recent addition of Gabapentin to my already impressive list of meds has triggered a flare; it sure feels like it.

Thank the gods I have doggies staying with me at the moment; I had a really bad turn last night, and I fear were it not for Harvey & Charlie, I mightn't have been here today to post at all. :(

(hugs Lame Wolf). Damp does affect anyone with these type of conditions - one of my bosses said he didnt need to watch the weather forcast - he would just watch the way I got out of the chair - if I creeked and staggered he would know wet weather was on the way!!! :D He used to startle people by threatening to hang me out of the window like a piece of sea weed! (BTW we got on very well and it was all a joke dont worry folks I know it could sound like bullying but it really wasnt - we are still good friends some 15 years later! :A

When i went to 4 days per week it was a life saver BUT it did take me a while to get over the sight guilt feeling and to train myself to do stuff for me, not what I 'ought' to do!

So today I felt well enough to go up a ladder and paint the fences - but I could take an hour off in the middle of doing 3 panels cos I started to ache. At one time I would have pushed myself through the whole task because I 'ought to get this done' Now, although there are other panels to paint, they can wait until the two forces combine i.e. I feel well enough and the weather is dry enough. :)

Good luck with making sure that on your days off you do if you want to, and sit still, read, watch TV what ever calms you down and comforts you.
    Take care all

Ah well, serve me right for boasting about climbing ladders and painting fences yesterday :o Have woken up this morning aching all over - as if i had been kicked by an enthusiastic donkey doing an Irish tap dance all over me!!! Hands are also very painful and stiff!

But there we go - I have felt so well since I moved down here and so thought nothing of aiming to paint 3 fence panels! I used to be able to paint at least 10 over a day! :rotfl:

How the mighty are fallen eh?? So its a day of Wheat bags/gentle chair yoga/ small walk so I dont seize up entirely!! Thank the Gods (or what ever) for brilliant TV; books; radio; internet; microwaves (to do the wheat bag with)!! I shall not be bored! I am going to look at it as a day to catch up on the above! :T

Also the fences look good! (can see them from the window!)

Hope the rest of you all have a great day!

I am so with you on the guilt feeling. DH has told me to look upon it as a way of looking after myself as I've spent so many years looking after others.

This week sees me drop to 3 days per week from 4. DH is away at present and I've been by myself all week. Been eating bits from the freezer and generally picking at food.

I work Monday to Wednesday but with DH being away, I've slept even worse than usual and so ended up working 2.5 days .... cheeky of me I know but I had the leave and thought, why not. I also want to use tomorrow - my first me day - to do something for me. Although I still don't know what to do. I had thought of joining a bigger library. ooooh I know .... living life to the max hey. Then I thought better of it. Then I thought of going to the city centre and getting some christmas pressies - but am not sure if I fancy doing that. I used the afternoon to do a little food shopping as I wanted it out of the way and to not feel like my days off have morphed into more food shopping days. Only thing is, I feel wiped out since I came home. I wouldn't mind, but I used my bus pass to lug my trolley as I was so tired. This fatigue business - haven't got time for it.

So now I'm back home, I've blanced some broccoli for the freezer. Have carrots and swede to do, but will do tomorrow when I can stand a little longer.

I've decided after I finish this message, that I'm gonna have my tea early and an early bath and bed with my books. That's a start. Will have a think, if my little grey cells will work as to what I can do as a treat for myself tomorrow. Only took me 52 years to get to this point. Yeah - but will the guilt kick in, I hear you ask. Probably!!!

    Have a good evening everyone.

I got there - I'm debt free and intend to stay that way. If I haven't got the cash, it doesn't get bought. It's as simple as that.

Fifteen years on from being granted retirement on the grounds of both physical and mental health problems, I still haven't licked the guilt problem. And you know what? It's gotten worse since Mr LW retired; we end up with him sitting looking at rubbish on the pc or playing console games (he's playing "Conflict : Desert Storm" on the PS2 as I type) and me scratting about looking for something else to clean. Gotta be something wrong there!

Lynplatinum I hope you're feeling a little less sore by now. (((gentle hug)))

Candygirl I've found with Gaba that the side effects outweigh the benefits; I battle with depression, anxiety and suicidal ideation on a daily basis already, and since trying Gaba, it's gotten a lot worse. Plus I have some of the other side effects listed in the leaflet. So maybe it's not for me; I'll discuss it with the GP when I see her on Friday. I'm glad it helped you, though. x
